Want to create a listenserver to play some Half life games (steam) but my server is invisible.
Anybody knows a foolproof way to help me? btw my router is a linksys

Maybe the problem may also come for the fact my ip adress doesnt start with 192.168.0.XX (which is the only way it is on linksys setup, can only change last digits)

it doesn't matter if your ip is 192.168.0.X or 192.168.1.X, the whole block of addresses 192.168.X.X are yours to play with.

If you want a fool proof way to get it working then look for something that says DMZ look up your computers IP and then add that to the DMZ. That simple all ports are then forwarded to that IP, down side is it does open ALL the ports, that means once when you where protected now you are not. Having a software level firewall is quite beneficial in this case.

Problem is my IP is 200.43.61.XXX

I think i have a static IP, problem began when configuring my router to the modem: I forgot the DNS/IP and all that, so i just set the "linksys easy advisor" to automatically detect the conection

It opens up a little console thing that allows you to run commands, then ipconfig/allgives you a lot of information about your computer and it's connection I believe. Such as IP address and physical addresss.

yes finding out your real IP would be good, that IP you listed looks like an external. As all internal IP address have to be like this 192.168.X.X.

so yes open a command prompt and type ipconfig, you don't really need the -all switch.

I guess what might be the problem.

Must be that the router automatically detected the modem (no need to input IP/DNS, etc), since i forgot that info (actually the technician wrote some numbers wrong)

BTW, which are the port to open for a half life listen server?

This might help you now or later just incase you didn't know these. First make sure sv_lan is set to 0 then type in console heartbeat.
