It would be alright if you could do legs moving when you're walking, a la Halo2...But then we would have a third leg when we kick, just like when we have a sword and we drink a potion.

Dark Messiah did this, all it involved was making the playermodel visisble to the client, methinks. Either that, or they made the playermodel invisible and the body was actually another object tied to the different animation spots. Because, I'm pretty sure the playermodel/p_models have to be made invisible for the client somehow. Don't quote me on that, though.
