I know u all know the players can do boosts when summon rats to a stair, like in Calruin to finish the blacksmith quicker and such, and to prevend this is to make the rats non solid so players cant make boosts with them, thats my suggestion, is it possible?

Yeeeaah - although I'm not sure how you boost on rats to finish Lord BS off faster... It may cause other issues... It also seems that, recently, people have started making maps that require you to boost your way into places - although Jagged Arrows / another player would work just as well.

Time to introduce levitation, seeing as elevating oneself is sought after to such a degree people have to use their minions or arrows (the latter makes sense, though) in order to satisfy their needs?

By putting a rat in the lava, you can surf it around and throw rocks at lord BS.

LOL

Heh, odd, the monsterclip should stop you from spawning the rat in there. Plus I think there's a trigger hurt, in addition to the skin, which should fry it. Man, those rats are tough.

edit: hmm... I cant seem to do it. Lord BS should be able to reach all the way accross that lava, as well as the horrors, come to think of it.

Well, you can only get so far with rat/skele climbing, and arrows at least take some skill (and also have their limits - plus u gotta use expensive arrows now). If we introduce actual levitation, it'll fubar a lot of existing maps, and limit the options on future ones.

With certain limits, naturally. I'm not talking sv_gravity 100 here.

Like, levitate 128 units straight up, or something?

Meh, thanks for the PM. I suspect I need to work out a reward system for people who report sploitz, cuz there are just so many that people simply MUST know about but do not report. I mean, that one, took some real effort. (Even when I ASK people how they are sploiting things they tend not to say - as with the map warping thing, there's another way around it that only one player reported, and only recently, but its gotta be the most obvious way).

I hope I can get around that one with some soft map edits... Are there any other critical summon climbing sploitz I should know about? Cuz if so, I may just go with making rats non-solid... As much as I hate to remove that bit of fun.

Rat climbing is a bit hard for me. Human ladders are serious

There is actually an easter egg in Thornlands that requires rat/skele boosting. When coming from Edana, there is a wall to your right and you can stack rats on top of Holden or stack skeles and get on a ledge with a glowing pink checkerboard patterned wall that you can see/walk through. If you go through it, some music starts playing and you find a picture with a name and email address.

There's a see-cret brush that lets you get there without.

If you think hard and long, you need nothing that skellies as stairs.
There's some upcoming maps that do, however, same could be achieved if you had the right kind of arrows or a player to assist you.

I don't know if you're serious, but that would be irritating. I saw that ledge and kept trying to jump to it from the other area, hitting all the walls, and trying to human ladder my way up there, but never once made it. I must try this out because I always assumed that there must be something up there...

That spot was there before ms:c, when rats and skellie summons weren't ingame (or magic in general) so there musta been another way of getting up there :)
