Thoth, that is probably the best image I've ever seen.

Taking that as approval I will record a full set probably tomorrow. I'll see what else I think I can do as well.

Ok did some recording.

Here are Vadrel's recordings, let me know if you need the changed or turend up or anything

Here are some recordings I did for Jerdid If you want these to use I can divide them up or change them as well. This is mostly to see if its something you want.

And here are two monster tests I did. I picked random lines from the huge list and just did a couple different monster voices to see if you want me to do anything like that as well. 1 2

Edit: I forgot I did Agrath for the lolz.

Vadrel is excellent, may even get on adding that in soon...

Jerdid is okay, but could be improved on quite a bit - he sounds a bit too much like he's reading his lines.

BTW - Vadrel could use one or two more lines I forgot about... Currently, he's using the scientist sound set to alert players he's being attacked. "Help me you fools!" "Oh dear! I'm under attack!" - or any two lines of your choosing along that theme would be helpful.

PS. Why does it post this dark forum twice so it shows top and bottom of thread. >_> Wonder if this is related to the incorrect return after post bug.

Sorry I feel like I'm making you listen to way too many of these. Here are a few lines for Vadrel and I tried Jerdid again, but I'm honestly not feeling super about that one. Just figured I'd put it up anyway in case you feel different about that one.

Vedral 1
Vedral 2
Vedral 3
Vedral 4
Jerdid attempt 2

What kind of voice would you want findeblind to have? I can try to do that one as well, just having a hard time coming up with something.

I'd go with 1 & 4... Jerdid is slightly improved, but now seems to be suffering from a lack of enunciation. Enunciation is particularly important when you're dealing with 16-bit 22khz sound sets. Don't worry about over acting - just under acting. ;)

Here's a rather extensive sound set from another game with some good examples in that range - mind you, however, they are kinda aimed towards combat responses, rather than dialogue, but they are in about the right mood range for the characters you mentioned:

I hope you aren't sick of hearing my voice yet.

I tried a couple more times on Jerdid and think this one is actually quite a bit better. The first one is rather confident while I tried to make the second sound a bit more nervous.

I also tried a few for findlebind I do not like the first two but they are different so I thought I would show them anyway. I actually quite like the third one. It starts off a bit too high and what not but after that I think it gets pretty good.

Sorry it feels like it takes me forever and a half to get these voices right. I gave Jerdid another go just let me know if you want anything changed or if there are a few you would want me to redo or whatever. I gave Findlebind another shot as well although its not a full set I wanted to see if this is about how you wanted it.

Can you make Jerdid's voice more...manly. I'd like to think he isn't between 15-17 years old, or Zeus.

>_>
The only problem with my voice is that i'm portuguese (which is kinda comparable to mexican on the mic, sometimes funny accent with some lines). But overall hard to understand, and i speak kinda fast, which is another problem.

Ya I was trying to make him sound young on purpose. I could do it more like this if it's better like that. Although I would redo it. I ended up under acting that recording.

Take your time, no rush... Better to refine the effort as much as possible... Wish you had as much gusto in your acting voice as you did in that disclaimer at the end though. ;)

Dun think Jerdid really needs to be more manly - being a newb warrior and all... It maybe Dridje is just offended that his namesake sounds like such a wuss... Is his map and concept though.

It's tough on Jerdid cause I just don't know how to sound frightened and so it kinda messes things up for the rest of it and the voice on Findlebind is so weird I'm still getting used to doing it so I need more practice before I can do really good acting in it. If I could just use my normal voice it would be ok, I just need to practice the voices more so I can add more "life" to them.

Edit: Ok so I spent like an hour trying to improve a bit on the acting side of it. Here is Findlebind. I lose the voice on that one and mess a few things up but it's more about the acting right now, I can fix the voice one the acting is done properly. And here is Jerdid again as well.

I would highly suggest, rather than recording the entire dialogue at once, record it one line at a time. Do one line until your happy with it, and then move onto the next. It'll help nail down the lines much better, and you'll be less apt to suffer from voice fatigue or fall off mid or end line, and miss enunciations.

I spent some time working on Jerdid with doing each individual line this time. I'm not trying to submit this as a final file set. What I'm asking for is some feedback. Tell me which ones work, what can be improved on certain ones, problems that persist with all of them, how the voice should sound, if any of them are how you would want them. Things like that. I'm going to start again on findlebind but I have a feeling his will take quite a bit more time. Jerdid

Roghan, roghan, roghan. He still doesn't sound manly enough. He needs to sound like he smokes 3 packs of marlboros daily and has throat cancer

Just kidding, I think it sounds fine. I approve.

I can go with the middle aged sheriff from the wild west if that would be better.

I don't have sticky power in User Created Content, "Other", nor "Music/Sounds", so I'm going to put this here in mapping for now...

Something went horribly wrong in this rar package... Gotta bunch of 74k ones, and one 2mb one in slow-mo mode.
