Identifiers are basicly a little aid to scripting, but they are also essentiel as it is an aid you can test your identifiers by doing //echo $identifier
example: //echo $nick
would return your nickname.
//echo $me
does exactly the same thing.
$mircdir will give you back the directory of where your irc is
$1, $2, $3 and so on look simple, but they vary a lot.
They are mainly used in commands to identify a word or phrase that
someone else might type in irc.
$1-, $2-, these identifiers are used to select a word and each word after that.
so if i was to use this sentance: "I like cheese"
$1 = "I", $2 = "like", $3 = "cheese"
$1- = "I like cheese", $2- = "like cheese"
$? is also a very useful little identifier
it opes up a little window
example: //echo -s you typed: $?="type something here"
This would promt you.
Also with IRC you can find out the time: $time, the date:
$date, what day it is: $day, the date in the
american format: $adate, and the fulldate: $fulldate
$chan is the current channel.
