Roll System?

So yea, idea is you have some command (/roll) (.roll) that just generates a random number between 0 and 100 and outputs it in general chat.

Thus, when something drops that multiple people want, everyone can roll for it. Assuming people are fair about it =P

Whats to stop us simply typing a fake roll that looks genuine ;)?

You'd need a special way to do it.

make it say "Vomika rolled *"

maybe in a different color than normal chat, like green :3

perhaps an amx thing...ie : /startroll

then every character hits 1 to roll or 2 to not roll and it outputs things that look kinda like server messages as to what everyone rolled.


good idea though!

Good players will decide between themselves, bad players will steal loot without rolling...

Incorperating "can't open chest unless the highest roller" still won't work, because what if a player leaves, or if its automatically rolled, what if they don't want the items inside?
If you choose to roll, what happens if a player forgets to roll? They are then not entitled to anything

When a chest is triggered, rolling is automatic and shown - the chest will not open for anyone but the highest roller until the highest roller opens it - or until a time limit is passed.

hows that one? :p

what if you don't want to roll, and if you do, and a nub thats been following gets it?

What if I solo a map and some noob joins at the last second to roll?

Going further, what if I kick them after they roll highest and it only lets them in? Will I be able to get them in when they're gone?

I didn't really envision it as anything more than a random number generator.

Used only under the right circumstances, those being multiple players want something and agree to roll for it.

Having it be a deciding factor in lewt would probably be too hard and not worth the effort.

dunno, this reminds me of the MVP item system in Ragnarok Online...

The player who deals the most damage, and takes the most damage from the boss has a special "MVP" item transferred into his/her inventory

it may be a great rare, or a decent rare... either way, player that contributes most gets item... kinda sucks for healers tho =\

In RO, most of the time, the MVP reward is gay.
The actual rares from MVP's are dropped openly.

...are you suggesting that there are actually support characters in MSC? BLASPHEMY!
