My character Raydrick completly disappeared from my character list yesterday, after a mapchange.
The last time at which it worked was around:
-9 february 2010 9h35 PM(GMT -5 east) / 2h35 AM (GMT 0)

-My steam ID is STEAM_0:1:1596580

-Character slot is #1

-I died and respawned just before the map changed.
I had a sword out, maybe in the process of taking it out or sheating it or charging an attack.
(Can't think of anything else that would be out of the ordinary, sorry.)

When the new map loaded, my character slot was empty, and retry/relog/exit game and come back and different server did not bring my character back.

FN server rebooted due to windows update, probably snagged you in the process.

Darn, I'm missing a ring of lightning resistance and a tome of blizzard (learned).
The tome of blizzard I got 5 minute before crash so its no wonder, but I'm pretty sure I had the ring at least 30 minutes before. Can anything be done or should I just forget about it?

Your character would have been rolled back to 6:35 PST (-8 GMT). I'm not sure if backup are still taken at 6-hour intervals, but it's still 35 minutes after backup. It's likely you got your ring just after backups were made.
