Spontaneous character rollback?

This is the second time this has has happened to me. And now villager's going to be pissed off at me because he had lent me one of his items.

I've been having this problem where ill play on my own server, goto someone else's server for whatever reason. Come back to my server (listenserver), and my character has been rolled back to the point where I left my server (XP, items, everything). Other times i come back to my server and everything is fine.

The only thing I've noticed to be consistent between these rollbacks is that my server starts on lan characters before it happens, despite my settings. It has never done it when it didn't do that. Does anyone has any idea what may be causing this?

sounds like server hick-ups to me, nothing much one can do about it. One thing you may try is connecting on a different port there is the 5711 port and the 5710 port.

Both of those are standard, if you want a more specialized port I can PM you the 3rd one.

I think i figured it out. I managed to both fix the problem and reproduce the bug multiple times. I've sent a pm to thothie about it.

Always close down your half-life before going to someone else's server.
