Rather than the system now (Stamina only affects your running), I think that stamina should also affect your attack power. Think about it, if you're tired, you aren't going to be lifting the sword very high or swinging it very hard, thus your power would be lower.

With that said, maybe there could be another feature when you're low on health (or some other factor like too many monsters near you), you could go into "Adrenaline mode." No, I don't think it should be called that or anything, but the point remains the same. If you're about to die, you're going to get a boost of adrenaline that's going to stop you from getting tired (Stamina stays full) and you'll most likely be hitting harder (Max hit * 1.1 or something)

yeah, when i'm about to die I go into some berzerker status....

Oh yeah, i just bleed profusely and then die.

/disagrees

well on second thought that kinda makes sense... "the future of games, pumping hormones into your characters!"
health levels
mana levels
stamina levels
adrenaline levels?
next'll be how hydrated your character is, the callouses on their hands affecting their grip on weapons, after training their muscles will need time to rebuild, active scars, and missing limbed characters....
(jkjkjk :oldlol:)

Maybe add a weapon like some kind of dual hand axes that when your health is low they get bonuses to attack speed and damage. "berzerker axes"?

then have players with the berzerker title be able to do it with any axe/blunt weapon

meh, I guess i'll add that the stamina bar can represent their actual total stamina, or the amount of stamina needed for consistent weapon swings/other things.

Wow um, I like MIB's idea, the hole "berzerker axes" would be stealing PVK's idea. If I knew I was about to die, I think my heart would be racing. But it's hard to say, if you've been putting up a long hard fight, and I was losing, I doubt I'd have any adrenaline left and just collapse on the ground before actually dieing. I say if you have enough stamina left, like more then half, you'd have an Adrenaline rush but if your stamina is near empty+Low hp, your attack is damn right puny. D:!

i suppose other more realistic things would need to implemented BEFORE hormones...

-Destructive armor before taking damage
-leg shots, and limping
-headshots and instant death
-internal bleeding and damage to organs
-feces and urine leaving dead bodies
-being hit by a giant sword doesn't take a way 50 hp, it cuts the target in two and they die
-no ability to jump nearly your full height
-be able to kick someone in their balls then cut them
-strangle your enemies
-removing limbs
-hit a weapon out of an enemies hand
-if shot in eye, half of vision is lost and depth perception lost as well
-if cut in belly organs spill everywhere
-falling from great heights upon other people kills both
-dropping weapons and other items from cliffs kills enemies
-slipping in mud and falling over upon ones own weapon
-hunger, restroom visits
-using any object as a possible weapon
-use people as weapons
-ability to bash w/ shields and cut with a sharp edge along shield
-ability to bash w/ hilt
-ability to throw any kind of knives, some not accurately
-ability to throw any kind of weapon
-bash someone w/ ur helmet or elbow
-ability to slam a door on an enemy
-ability to swing from and use ropes
-ability to throw dirt in your enemies eye

and i'm sure there are many more

If you want to code those, then by all means. I would agree that some of them need to be in there. However, my idea isn't entirely for realism, it's mostly because it adds to the game.

as you can see i've made possibly decent things green and uber-fucktasticly stupid ones (due to game mechanics or otherwise) red.

Damn it, I was just about to post something Just like that Evil!!

I like the Leg shots idea (with a bow/crossbow), slowing down the enemy for a few secs. But limping? No. Would be nice, but not needed.

blah, sorry... I just see some mechanic where when you're about to die that you become stronger and i find it too weird... if anything the adrenaline would've kicked in way before ur about to die. If you are doing ANY fighting or running away from an enemy, that's when adrenaline is active...

bah, and then i looked at dark messiah website... wow... it's like MS cept better! haha

derno if they got their ideas from elderscrolls or from ms

adreneline kicks in when your body thinks its in danger in small ammounts, but if your body thinks its only chance of survival is using ALL of the adreneline it has left...thats what its going to do.

My information.
In Reply To MiB's First Post That Started This Thread-

Making stamina effect how much damage you do & the accuracy sounds a lot like Oblivion, since they do that... and I think that system is pretty cool 8)

WHY THE HELL DOES EVERYONE HAVE TO COMPARE ANY IDEA TO ANY GAME THAT USED IT??

if all games used ALL thier own ideas and discarded any that had been used before, games would NEVER have gotten as good as they are now.
