Well hello there. I don't suppose any of you fine ladies and gentlemen got into the SCII beta? Well, I did, and all I can say is... wow. Easily the most sublime strategy game ever made. The Protoss still remain my favourite race, with all their pretty lazers and shiny gold plating. Mmmm.

Anywho, share your experiences or plan skirmishes here. Or just discuss StarCraft, whatever.

Apparently it was leaked, so now people without the beta keys can get it too.

I thought they didn't work... you have to sign in using your Battle.Net account, which scans for whether you have the SCII beta license attached. You can't play at all without signing in. I dunno, though.

I'm still pissed they cleaved it into three parts. My favourite part is last, too. Ugh.

Yeah Protoss rules, was also by favorite campaign in the original.

But the Terran campaign will include a Zeratul mission, so we will get some Protoss action :)

The campaigns will be in three different games one for each race. But supposed to have the same or similar multi-player with all 3 races in each game.

They split StarCraft II into three parts? Seriously?

Where have you been?
That's one hell of a stupid-ass question so here's some random mockery instead of an actual useful reply.
"Oh my it would appear I have not been properly briefed on the latest electronic entertainment. What must I do now?"

Thanks.

Still kind of surprising that Blizzard would do this though. On one hand, it's just "moar games moar $$$ laugh out loud" but on the other hand, it's Blizzard, so they'll probably do their best to make three actual good games.
Meh... not like I'm all that interested in StarCraft II anyway.

I fully expect them to make three great games if they're going to charge $50 each...

And that's why. They at least produce quality, even if they milk you out of every penny for it.

I think they chose to split it because each racial campaign is bigger than the entire Starcraft story. I never completed StarCraft though, because I suck at strategy games. :p

Sorry, from what I've seen on these forums, you don't understand anything proper, so I asked a "stupid" question. It was posted SC2 was being split years ago, even so that I've heard of it, and I don't much care for SC2 either.

Apparently the mapping tools for SCII are going to be incredibly powerful; I've heard people say that they'll make the extreme functionality of WCIII look primitive. Yay! This makes for some pretty interesting TD maps.

They 'chose' to do it because Blizzard is ACTIVISION Blizzard.

Well, there are Roaches (which are essentially recon units who can move while burrowed), and the Queens have metamorphosed into a base-bolstering ground unit who generates unholy amounts of creep and can give you 4 free larvae. Always fun. Most units are largely the same, though.

And alot of classic units are gone, such as lurkers, defilers, dark archons, etc.

The lurker has been semi-replaced with the Spine Crawler, which is a building which you can move around your creep. It's pretty nifty. Combine it with a Queen and you can randomly set up little defensive posts.
