Ugh you gotta be kidding me... I just found a box for some high powered exspensive Artic Cooler fan, I found the old one in the same box -_-

Edit: Wait I just double checked, the one on my CPU is the Intel one it came with... That must be the fan for the old PC (That also had overheating problems lol). I checked the old PC and there it is, massive thing with huge copper bars for heatsink lol... That's my Dad's PC now though, so I don't wanna dismantle it.

Screw it *grabs jacket and money* I'm taking a 20 minute train ride to the closest mall to find some paste and maybe get a new fan (*Sigh* and I'm meant to be saving for Uni). I would just buy it online, but my bank refuses to give me a Debit/Credit Card because I have 'bad credit history' even though I've only owned a savings account... Be back in a few hours.

Well I'm back. No new fan as all I could fine where AMD models :S I got some Thermal Paste though for £7.99 and have applied it. Temperatures are down a bit. I ran the stress test I've been using and didn't crash after 3 minutes (You're meant to go run it for 10, but I didn't want to damage it). Three minutes may not sound good but I would crash at 20 seconds before.

You have internet, you have money - order a damned fan over the damned internet. Hell, Newegg takes paypal, checks, and money orders (even if it's a pain to do.)

Also never seen a computer store not sell CPU fans for AMD's (if anything, cooling solutions for AMD's are more popular, as they run hotter, and are more often preferred by custom build enthusiasts.) You sure you know your motherboard’s socket type?

All I could find WAS AMD's. I know my motherbaord (ASUS P5N-3 SLI) and my processor is an Intel Core Duo but they had nothing that would fit my specs =/

That's a socket 775 - that's just about the most common CPU fan there is.

If it's a matter of it not fitting into your case, then it be time for a new case, but there's no way any computer store which sells CPU fans should be missing socket 775 fans. Tis like a softdrink store with no pepsi.

It wasn't really that good of a computer shop, it sold mainly laptops, premade desktops and all sorts of electronics. The area where I got my paste from was labled "Cooling" and it was about a 1m wide set of shelves and that was all they had. In my area there isn't enough interest in custom PC gaming for a shop to stock things like what you linked too. There were two different fans and both were for AMD only it seemed (Checked the box all over and no sign of it being compatible with anything else so I didn't risk it).

I still haven't over heated though so maybe I don't need another fan.
