eh whatever I remove it anyway, it just seems odd not to share it when I upload to it all the time. Kinda defeats the purpose of putting it on a web page.
I usually give it out on an individual basis, but do not broad link it on the forums, as there are potential issues that could be caused, in addition to server strain, h4x, and masquerading back in the day when we had client servers.
I've been meaning to rig up a range of test characters, but I've not had time thus far. Here's a character named "MAP_TEST_CHAR" who's around level 30 in everything (777hp|380m) with a very health array of equipment: http://www.thothie.com/msc_dev2/LAN_MAP ... HAR_2.char
Drop that in your SAVE folder, set sv_lan 1 mode in the listenserver.cfg, and make your name "MAP_TEST_CHAR" and he should load.
PS. If MiB, Shuriken, or Blasto are feeling kind, it'd help to have a set of map test characters representing the typical 10th, 20th, 30th, 40th, and 50th levels in one rar package for map makers to fiddle with.
I can do that, considering I have the most access to all the characters. With this new name changing thing I can look through all the archives and compile them all together with like equipment as well.
It'd be better to do it that way so you could get a flat set, predictable, set of stats and equipment with a fresh character you know doesn't have any weird corrupted items on him.
Also, if you'd be so kind - use ". setquest n 6" on the character when yer done, so his name can't be changed back (without 10 million gold, or whatnot). Just name him something that makes it clear he is a developer character, "MAP_TEST_CHAR" or whatnot.
