That's not the reason.. Unless you're playing with one Steam account, Squirrel and I have played at the same house before..

you will need 2 steam account to play together. If you are hosting a server. You will need to enable your booster to allow you to join your own server.

If you are using Kingdom then that shouldn't be a problem. But still... you need 2 steam account to play with each other.

Wrong :)

You don't need anything to join your own server...

*Note: Any IP addresses don't mean the real thing...
My *internal* local IP: 192.168.0.666 :p
My sister's IP: 192.168.0.100
Server IP: 192.168.0.911

Here we go, basically me and my sister connect to 192.168.0.911, 3 computers, me, my sister, and the server. Then everyone is happy :)

If... Your IP is the servers, then you need to connect with your own address, not 127.0.0.1, because MS:C just doesn't like that :) If that doesn't work, then you need to set up "port forwarding" and connect via. your outer IP address (http://whatismyip.org).
