So, on ANY map, whenever there is a bandit miniboss or any type of maldora minion, his game randomly shuts off and he closes to desktop.
No error or anything...

Any ideas why?

Is he fully updated, including map updates?

Check the date on msc/dlls/sc.dll

Tis about the only thing that causes instant crashes with specific monsters is said monster not being in the dll.

I will *finally* have error handling for this next month. Granted, it'll still crash - but it'll at least tell you why and which script it can't find. ;)

I'd still try reinstalling the patch if I were him. Ask him to check the date on sc.dll after he's done updating.

He did try reinstalling, but I dont think he checked the date on it. I'll tell him to when I can.

Also, if something in any of his .dlls differs from something in mine, wouldn't it not even let him join, through some error saying that it was different? or is that for something different?

Only applies to the client.dll

If he had steam open when he installed the beta, sometimes some DLLs fail to overwrite.

Oh hey, he just checked the dates, and they're both from last month(both ms.dll and sc.dll) as well as the two SSE_optimized things. I zipped them all and sent them to him. Hope this'll fix it...

yup, fixed.
