I think you should finish it then. Would be really cool to have that map completed.

This is off-topic, but I don't see how it would be cool to have Nashalrath completed. I'm referring to part two in particular, because it's aimed at players of levels 50 - 60, and according to Thothie, we shouldn't even be getting past level 40 with the current content.

Not to mention that "the game becomes pointless" (I think he said something like that once) at level 50, as it is now.

If it's so pointless, then how come Joe has 62 parry, and he's still playing?

Level limit is creeping up as we get more higher end maps, tis how it works...

And? Thoth himself said that Aluhandara can be more than one map, Rickler's map is actually labled part 2 (iirc). Unless you're cancelling it for other reasons, I don't see the deal...

Gah, my aluhandra map is a free roam map also and it got canyons and all that he's map got,so there wont be any differenses, otherwise i can delete some parts from it and replace it with something else like a big cave, temple or anything else.So meybe it wont be deleted afterall :|

Problem is, Rickler is working on a more tightly nit end of Aluhandara using the current scripts. I'm not going to have time this month to come up with new scripts for him, and my hope for Aluhandara was to have a large free-roam map with a lot of very large critters here and there and some extra high end and storyline transitions. Said giant critters would involve new scripts.

So there's an advantage if you take your time and setup the large scale and of Aluhandara over time, namely, that there's a chance in hell the scripts can keep up with you. If you don't make the original concept for Aluhandara, someone else will have to.

Meh, really need to find a way to let people make their own scripts. I can't keep being responsible for all scripts. I ain’t got squat done this month as it is.

What I was going to say before the forums died...

1. You wouldn't want new content out? This includes: A new map to explore, new enemies to kill, new weapons/goodies to get.

2. Creating higher-level content to go in-game gives everyone incentive enough to play. No matter what level you are on.

Regardless of what thothie says (hey I like the guy but he's not my god), if nashalrath is there and is so high that even the highest levels of our community cannot beat it together, it would serve as a benchmark to where the next step is. Imo, lodagond, the hardest maps currently in the game, are piss easy with a group of just medium levels. And it's absolutely sickening to me that the best items in the game are handed out so easily, when I spent entire MONTHS getting a single weapon or spell last year.

The reason thothie said the game becomes pointless is that you would need as much higher level content as you have now, spread across the level range we have now. Such as the 0-40 we have now. At that point, we'd have to buff monsters and rewards so immensely that you'd be hitting walls every week with the current content progress we have now.

I don't know whether the current system would support higher levels, as at level 50 im sure everything is in the billions of xp, and if the "end game" is considered level 100, I don't want to see "You have slain a greater shadow horse demon. 908582023005 xp gained." However, with the current situation, I think we need to start seeing more earnest high level development, but with a delayed release, so that in a few months (or...years >_>) a large release occurs, with plenty of content and time to digest it. Over the duration of this content progress, normal monthly updates with a map or two that are higher or fill in the medium/lower levels would be released. I apologize if thats too absurd for whoever is impatient and never wants to fight a monster, god forbid, harder than a group of their guild.

I know how much J-M cried when the maldora reaver was killing people at spawn and other crazy stuff, but there comes a certain point when there will be content higher than what is playable. It just means its there, and you'll reach the level to beat it eventually. It's like P said, an incentive.

I would like to play a game I could, you know, lose. *gasp*

I've spent a year to get the GiB and I spent the last six months trying to claw my way into the higher level maps. It's harder if you play it with other low level friends. The elite group hands out things to easily because they're past the hump of difficulty and can just do runs since they have nothing else to do.

So basically we'd have one or two maps that nobody can beat at all for a while? This isn't a very bright idea in my humble opinion.

Are we playing the same Lodagond maps or do you just like to exaggerate enormously?

When I read this part, I actually laughed out loud in real life and I figured I'd post this to let you know:

As far as I know, the reason as to why the game becomes pointless beyond level 40 is because the game isn't ready for anything beyond level 40 yet. That includes super hard maps like Nashalrath that might be mistaken as 'fun'.

I had full right to 'cry' here, because the reaver killing people at the spawn wasn't intentional at all. I'm sorry if my attempts at making this game fun offend you.

I am betting that this won't happen. This modification needs all it can get to lure new people to it. That includes new content that people can play (maps)/use (weapons).
It's pointless to put new unusable content in this game when there's already so much people who ONLY play this game for the new weapons that get released every month.

JM, are you trying to make everyone hate you? Because I've noticed how you fluff up your post just to rub your one-sided view even more in Glorfindel's face, and if anyone else did what you're doing, you'd (pointlessly) flame and attack them, and wouldn't drop that subject in other parts of the forums. Glorfindel has a right to state his opinion (Am I wrong, JM?) so you have no reason to jump on and attack him.

Oblivion was one of the easiest rpg I've ever played, and I would rather play a game that's challenging as you "explore", and not unbelievably repetitive in difficulty. If you don't want Nashalrath, what would you like to see in it's place? Another newbie/level 10-20/20-30/30-40 map?

Fine by me, maybe sooner or later you'll stop posting in the threads that I'm posting in all together and save everyone the hassle of reading your arrogant, immature, close-minded posts.

Change that pending crap to wip. It would be a waste if you just gave up. My map is more suited to be the end portion of aluhandra they way it's laid out.
