Balance replacement (if it comes to that)

I've heard rumors that there has been talk of removing on chance missing with melee weapons. If this is implemented and on chance missing is removed; then the balance stat will become useless. I thus propose a replacement of the function of the balance stat: balance could work as an average damage modifier.

For example: say you have a weapon that does 10-20 damage and a balance of 20, the balance stat would modify your random damage to be 12-20, removing the bottom 20% of your random damage.

It wouldn't have to be a direct 1 balance to 1% ratio, though I think that is a fair amount.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Well, it was more of an idea for MSS really, to have a more action oriented RPG system...

For us to do it... Yeeesh... We'd have to setup a Mount-and-Blade'esque parry system, and edit every monster model we have for the ability to dodge and such... That'd be (checks) 533 models, most of which we have no sources for, so we'd have to fix the textures after we decompiled a lot of them... Then editing of (checks again) 783 monster scripts (Wow, we have that many? Fuuuu...) We'd probably also need MIB's help on changing the combat system to work by hitbox, instead of bounding box - and then we'd wind having to tweak the hit boxes on a lot of those 533 models as the inevitable complaints came in...

Suffice to say, a *MONUMENTAL* task, that'd fundamentally change game play - something I generally try to avoid... I suppose I'd be more likely to put Balance towards improving the manual parry and maybe slightly alter reach and attack speed, and if I was raping the system that badly, also try to put in some system where you could concentrate on one of the three sub stats in some intuitive way - maybe increasing power with power blows, balance with parries, or some such...

I... Wouldn't worry about anything like that happening anytime soon... I'm having enough trouble just getting out this rather modest patch before the new year.

On the other hand, jail girl looks more an more liable to return to where she belongs, and all five of the parental units I've been looking after seem to be doing better... So maybe I'll have more time for absolutely crazy MSC sh*t soon.

YES! I would love to see some sort of difference in training the sub stats!
