Blank memorized spell?

My friend who has recently started playing msc had memorized erratic lightning and rejuv. Later he tells me that the rejuv disappeared and a second erratic spell was listed which didn't do anything. He drank a forgetful potion and removed the first one now his first memorized spell is 'blank'. Is his character corrupted?

Hrmmm... Not good... Might wanna roll that back - though if he can put up with the blank spot, it may not be fatal. I suspect he "forgot" his last spell, and I dunno if we ever tested the consequences of that.

I'm the one who happened upon this issue.

I initially thought it was a second erratic lightning spell, but as I forgot said spell and now have a blank one first in my spell list, the impression I'm getting is that the reason I thought it was a second lightning spell was (because since there's seemingly no data to get from this "filled slot") that the string that was displayed didn't update.

I noticed this right after a map change, I had used the rejuv spell just fine right before we changed map.

Try drinking another forgetfullness potion and pressing "1" instead of trying to click the blank spell.
