Here's what happened to me:

First blood drinker: I threw it, and wanted to see if I could cast a spell while it was airborne. So while my sword was flying around, I tried to cast a healing circle. I think it worked, but I didn't see the sword anymore. Right click did nothing. I did, however, see an Elven shortsword model (don't have one on my char) going straight through my stomach - that's what the little red dude showed me. Others saw an Elven shortsword model going through my stomach, too. The blood drinker wasn't in my pack anymore.

Second blood drinker: I threw it and accidentally pressed Q (holster) while it was airborne. I was like "crap" so I pressed right mouse to send a return request. The game told me "Return request sent to 0" and the blood drinker did not return to me. Again there was an Elven shortsword model sticking through my stomach, which others could also see. I looked in my pack and I actually saw the blood drinker, so I double clicked it, and then it really vanished. After double clicking it wasn't anywhere, anymore.

I got myself a third one yesterday but it's truly a shame that I didn't manage to contribute to the OMG INFLUX OF RARES with these other two.

Blood drinker throw is evil.

Edit: And the throw still doesn't restore your HP (bug).

So I just lost my third blood drinker.

I was fighting the fragment of Maldora in Wicard Oven, I threw the sword, and I didn't actually see it fly away. I clicked my right mouse to send a return request, but nothing happened - there was no message whatsoever in the bottom right event window. The sword wasn't in any of my packs, either. It was in my hands, however. Double-clicking it did nothing, of course, and when I holstered it, there was - yet again - an Elven shortsword model sticking through my stomach. The blood drinker was nowhere to be found.

The server was pretty laggy, so maybe that's what caused this.

It's a good thing the spawn chance on this sword is 100%, or I would have freaked out big time.

voldar is broken in ms_wicardoven. you cant fight him because all it does is spawn maldora and he just stands there doing nothing.

I think the BD just hates J-M. It really doesn’t leave your inventory. Throw the thing and check yer hands – it’s still there. Now if the thing is transforming itself into some other weapon mysteriously or something, I dunno.

*sigh* I dunno why the sequences on ms_wicardoven have so much trouble detecting when players are in view. Usually you can just dance around them and *eventually* they’ll trigger. I’ll try, yet again, to find a way to make them more dependable, but I’m running out of ideas, I’ve tried so many.

Thothie, I know how the blood drinker throw (and any other returning weapon throw) works and I trust you on how it works.

I know that the blood drinker is still in my inventory.

Main issue is: it is not.

If you can supply me with a non-[FN] test character with 20 or so blood drinkers, I'll see what I can do to find out what causes the swords magically disappearing.

I found a way to dual wield the dark sword AND blood drinker at the same time! See below method #2.

How to make your blood drinker vanish, method #1, step-by-step by J-M v2.5.5, 100% success rate:

Requirements:
1x blood drinker
1x weapon holster

1. Throw the blood drinker (second charge). If you press 3, you can still see that it's in your hands.
2. Press Q to holster the blood drinker while it's airborne. If you press 3, you can see the blood drinker in your weapons sheath.
3. While the blood drinker is still airborne, double-click it in your weapon holster.
4. You will now see a green, highlighted (= current item in use) Elven shortsword model going through your stomach.
5. When the blood drinker returns, you can no longer normally attack with it.
What you see (v_model) is the blood drinker displaying the wrong animation (some sort of parry animation) everytime you attack.
What others see (p_model) is you punching stuff whilst there is an Elven shortsword model through your stomach. If you hit something, you will hear the punching noise.
You can not holster this 'fake' weapon whatsoever.
6. However, if you kick (first charge, you can not perform a second charge with this bugged weapon in your hands) the blood drinker will vanish from your view (v_model is now fists). Others will still see the Elven shortsword at the odd place.
7. No matter what you do, you can not lose this bugged weapon. You can't drop it, holster it, you can't switch hands, yet it's still there (says the weight bar). Reconnecting will make you lose the bugged weapon as well.

How to make your blood drinker vanish, method #2, step-by-step by J-M v2.5.5, 100% success rate:

Requirements:
1x blood drinker
1x weapon holster
1x any other random item you can hold in your hands

1. Follow steps 1 - 5 of the above method. You now have the bugged weapon in your view again, but you can only perform martial arts attacks.
2. Now double click the other random item you have so that you hold it in your hands. After you remove that item again, the blood drinker model is gone from your view, and basically you're back to the end situation described in method #1; you are holding a bugged weapon in your stomach (...!) that you can't get rid of by either holstering, dropping, and/or changing hands. Reconnecting will, again, make you lose the bugged weapon.

How to dual wield a blood drinker and any other random 1h weapon, step-by-step by J-M v2.5.5, 100% success rate:
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK, YOU DUMBASS EXPLOITER

Requirements:
1x blood drinker
1x weapon holster
1x any random 1h weapon (I used a dark sword)

1. Throw the blood drinker (second charge). If you press 3, you can still see that it's in your hands.
2. Grab your 1h weapon. You will see that it appears in your left hand. Not only that, you will also see your fists.
That's right! You got three hands! Who's the man now, dog?
msc_bd04.jpg

3. But it gets better: once the blood drinker returns (automatically, I didn't press Q) you are wielding a dark sword and the blood drinker. Or at least, that's what you see (v_model). Others see you wielding a dark sword. If you attack (and charge) you will also hear the dark sword sounds.
WHAT TO DO NOW?
A) If you press Q (holster), you holster the dark sword, and the blood drinker magically shows up again for others in your hands, and it works 100% again. No issues here.
B) If you press C (drop), you drop the dark sword, and the same happens as above.
C) However, if you press middle mouse (switch hands), you will switch to "your other two hands". That's right - you are now wielding a dark sword AND a blood drinker at the same time! Others will see you holding the dark sword in your left hand and the blood drinker in your right hand.
WHAT TO DO NOW?
C1) If you press middle mouse (switch hands), you can successfully switch between the two weapons. Is this useful? Well, you can decide if you want to use mouse1 for the blood drinker and mouse2 for the dark sword, or vice versa.
C2) If you press Q on the blood drinker, you holster the blood drinker. No bugs here.
C3) If you press Q on the dark sword, you holster the dark sword. No bugs here.
C4) If you press C on the blood drinker, you drop the blood drinker. No bugs here.
C5) If you press C on the dark sword, you drop the dark sword. No bugs here.

Other weapons I managed to dual wield in combination with the blood drinker:
- rusty short sword
- sharp knife
- training hammer
and then I stopped trying because it most likely works with every 1h weapon that exists.

Things that do not make your blood drinker vanish.
1) Casting a spell after having thrown the blood drinker.
2) Pressing Q after having thrown the blood drinker.
3) Stepping into a teleporter after having thrown the blood drinker - my blood drinker came back to me several times in my testmap with teleporters and it went 6000 units through the void to do that.
4) In fact, throwing the blood drinker, holstering it, casting a spell and going through a teleporter STILL didn't make it vanish.

However, that doesn't explain people randomly losing it
I personally think it has something to do with lag. The third time I lost my blood drinker I merely threw it - I did nothing else - and it vanished. The server this happened on was quite laggy and we were fighting the fragment in Wicard Oven.

Next to that I think it's safe to conclude that this weapon has issues

*shrug* none of that behavior can be explained by the script, so the best thing I can think to do is rig it so you can't attack the same way the Thunderaxe works, and hope that takes care of weapon switching and such. If that doesn't fix it, I'll have to dump the weapon concept, as like I said, I got nuttin.

Thothie, is there any way to rig it so that when the blood drinker is flying, that certain button functions are disabled for the duration of it's flight? Such buttons to temporarily disable are the buttons that J-M used to do his tricks with it, such as the dual-wield trick. I figure the buttons would be the inventory, weapon and spell select button, all hotkeys, and the holster weapon buttons. That way you can be like runeghar and still punch (and hopefully kick soon) with the blood drinker.

After seeing this cool looking weapon introduced, I hate to see it go because of silly tricks that can be done with it.

Yeah, my goal with finding these bugs wasn't having you drop the weapon concept O_>

Just disable holster, drop, and item selection while the sword is flying
Or disable punching/kicking while it's flying, because I think that has something to do with being able to grab extra weapons; if you can punch/kick, you have empty hands, thus you can grab a new object. Right?

Hey, what if when the blood drinker was flying "blood drinker gauntlets" were in your hands. The gauntlets would be the same as being bare handed, thou it would serve the purpose of keeping your hands "occupied". That way you could use MA while the sword is flying and not be able to do other things with your hands. I really like being able to punch and kick while the sword is flying and maybe this is a way of being able to keep it in the game...

Not sure if this is useful info, but...
When the blood drinker is flying and you try to grab a 2h weapon, it goes back into your weapon holster.
If you try to grab a 1h weapon or a shield (I just tried - blood drinker + Urdulian shield dual wield is awesome) the blood drinker doesn't go back into your weapon holster.

The easiest fix (I guess it's the easiest fix) would be to find a way to force the blood drinker to go back into your weapon holster, whenever you grab a 1h item while the sword is airborne.

Apparently you cannot ticket gladiator armor (when its in your hands they offer to redeem a ticket but not store an item)

And the description for Calrian's mace says used by lord Calrain.

Do you have more than one gladiator armor? If you try to ticket something you have more than one of (or try to redeem one) it won't work

Well dont know if it has something to do with having 9.9 mana or something and it says 10. But i can't use the speed attack with demon claws unless i have 11 mana. Not a big issue but still thought i would tell about it.

EDIT: It only drains 10 mana though, but can't use it unless it leaves 1 mana >.<

Oh and another thing. I've had this problem in mscave lots of times. If you open a chest and it wont show its inventory its just opens then closes, and then if you press it again it will be empty. for anybody that comes to look in it. However, when it won't open like that, if you open another chest then the same chest again it will work and have things in it.

Dwarven zombies can hit you from a downright rediculous distance. Please nerf.

I could probably write a book on how unfair/lame/unrealistic this is.
