Can't see whatever I'm holding

Hi all, whenever I play on my server, whatever I'm holding in my hands is invisible... That sucks since my fav weapon is the crossbow. Everything is fine on any other server than mine though... Also on the character selection screen, my characters are like "--" instead of "I".Any idea what could be the cause :|?
I'll have to remake my outdated sig stats but I'm lazy.

Hrmm... My best guess is that the server has the wrong viewmodel set or something... When you setup your HLDS, did you copy MSC from your client, or did you use a fresh install? I'd suggest starting with a fresh install from yonder, apply the patch from same link, and try again. Remember that you'll have to manually point the installers to your hlds\msc folder.

Fresh install, I re-installed the betapack but it didn't fix it. I also edited my post above with an even weirder... thing. Oh and my server is still invisible, haven't had the time to try stuff to fix this yet.

You did install the full 1.11 version, then the betapack yes? (Don't mean to sound condescending, but I'm kinda outta sane ideas here...)

Yes of course . Noticed that I can move around while sitting too :?. This can't be caused by tweaks or something since a virus ate my whole games hard drive about a year ago and I only installed steam and MSC two days ago.

It really sounds like you got some old version mix up going on... Your MSC was linked from the web page and not grabbed from somewhere else, yes? As for "tweaks" causing it, I suppose that would depend on what sort of "tweaks" we're talking about... >_>

I tried installing only MSC 1.11 then the betapackage, still same issue. By "tweaks" I simply meant they could not be in cause since I haven't possibly tweaked anything since this is a fresh install except my old config.cfg and listenserver.cfg which were transfered but I doupt they would cause some kind of MSC style fuxoring. Downloading another full install even though they both have the exact same size and date but meh, worth a try anyway I guess.

EDIT: FIXED! The full version I downloaded last had a few kbs more than my old one, making me a noob and you was right about whatever you said about versions My old full version was probably one of the earliest release that were replaced shortly after.

EDIT: FIXED! The full version I downloaded last had a few kbs more than my old one, making me a noob and you was right about whatever you said about versions My old full version was probably one of the earliest release that were replaced shortly after.

Both these versions from the front page? It'd be good to know if one of those was fubar.

Meh - need to make this game verify its files better, somehow. We get way too much of this.
