I don't know if anyone has suggested this before, but if not, I would like someone who can decompile, fix, and recompile something.

I want someone to try decompiling the armor MDL, move the armor out 1 or 2 units, and recompile. Hopefully, if this is enough of a distance change, it could be a temporary fix for the armor clipping glitch.

Anyone care to try? ;-)

I can give it a try. When you say move it out do you mean like scale the model larger, or move its position?

I think scaling it would accomplish it, if scaling is what I shink it is. Basically, I want every part of the point on the model moved a unit outwards, thus making it so that the player model can't pop through because it's too far behind.

Whatever it takes to accomplish that ;-)

Didn't work. Tested it with Avoozl on Hells diner and my own server. We tried both dark armor and normal.

It didn't even look different, so I'm guessing it can't be solved like that.

Oh well, anyone else have any ideas? =\

Interstin' idea... It maybe you can scale the mesh slightly, without scaling the bones, and it may work out - although it also will likely look a somewhat odd. ;)

Fixing now...

Edit: is it all the armours? Or just the leather one?

The body cuts through them all because the player submodel bits that are supposed to disapear when you put the armor on, don't. It's much worse in the legs than in the body.

Odd thing is, it works fine on your client - it only goofs up when viewing other players.

Ok, heres all of the armours scaled up by push 0.1

Let me know it was enough, I didn't want to do it too much, or it would royal bugger up.

IMO I think it is silly to try to "work around" the code's logic error's. Instead I think we should wait until we get a coder (when ever that will be) and have him/her fix the server-side bug

Every bug fix we have to date has involved exactally that...

...in fact... I think I may have just solved the 0x0x0 bug, via the usual work aroudn h4x - thanks to kick in the head by Lord K.

Eh, no - but making an include in item spawns that tells them to teleport off the map if they come in with a player... You'll see in your mappers beta leak... Definitely wanna test that one a bit before I get the 500 [FN]"'OMFG my ice blade teleported away! pelase rest0rz0rz FFS!" posts. ;)

This is the 0x0x0 bug we are speaking of.

Back on topic - anyone get a look at this yet, or have a screen shot? Seems every time I try to join a server with peeps on it, they run away before I can ask em to put their clothes on...

...reminds me of some clubs I've been to.

Guess not.

As you can see, the player model still sticks through the armor model. (Again, the playermodel submodel bits are supposed to turn off, but don't)

Well let's see what everyone else thinks of the newest idea then..

Since it's obvious that armor "works" in that it will show up when you put it on, I think that perhaps if the player model were to have only the head and the armor model would include armor_human, it could be set up through scripts, rather than hard coding, that the body would show when no armor was on and wouldn't show when metal armor is on.

Pros-
Things look less suck

Cons-
With the OTHER armor glitch (You have to take off armor and put it back on for it to show), it may not work. Players would walk around with only heads and have no way of turning their bodies on
Kinda of a lot of work for a temp fix, when Thothie may discover the permanent fix and be able to compile at any time.

..I like pie.
