9/63 standard animations done

Just finished the running animation.. I feel like a natural at this animation stuff.

Gloating aside, I think I got the hardones done, the walk animations were a tad tricky but I got them done too.

all that leaves are the attack animations, the death animations, and the requested additions.

He doesn't need his arms to swing so much, but eh, it works.

It'll probably look better once he has a sword in his hands.

I agree with lockdown. A dwarf who power walks like that all the time wouldn't be so fat.

He's not fat.. he's a dwarf which means he's big boned :p
besides the running animation does look pretty good at a decent framerate,

I can't unsee him tiptoeing, which kinda ruins the whole thing for me.
Edit: Also, I'm not fond of the standing animation for the dwarf. It works for the player due to how skinny he is, but it just looks odd for the dwarf.
It'd be pretty cool if his arms were crossed with his equipped weapon(s) on his waist/back while he's standing still and out of combat. :p

He doesn't have to do it, but you know you'd love a bunch of crossed arm dwarves standing in a line with shades on.

I do have everything backed up
as I work I save a SMD and then a MS3D save just in case

Death animation is proving tricky, for die_simple I'm doing the humans animation (rather similar to the humans animation) and for die_foreward I'm gonna do my own.
and I should make a die_overdramatic hehe just for kicks XD

Yeah, if you re-import the animation SMD's it tends to lose all the keyframing (or rather, makes every frame a keyframe, making anims a pain to adjust), so for anims, at least, ya definitely want an MS3D backup.

Well I did mess up when saveing walk and walk_slow I accidentally saved walk_slow over walk so I don't have a ms3d for the regular walk.

Well in an attempt to do the forwards death animation.. I ended up doing this out of sleep deprivation. (I'm an insomniac)

Hint: http://frosthusky.files.wordpress.com/2 ... s-down.jpg

Now I'm thinking this should be the over dramatic death.. XD kinda like a 1/100 chance it'll play it sorta deal.

LOL family guy, keep this anim thot.

You could just make him fall on his knees then face on ground, or just dies in kneeling position for some badassness

Humm Instead of remakeing P_Models would it just be easier to realighn the models in them and add the dwarven SMDs to the current p_models?

If you mean similar to what you see going on with the male/female armor sets ( models/armor/p_helmets.mdl and models/armor/p_armorvest_new.mdl ) then *maybe*... However, those rely on the bone sets matching up exactly. That method may not work for the dwarf - you'd have to experiment. :/
