Dynamic player model

I think it'd be a very good use of time to make the player model in source have different parts, which disappear when you wear armor (as its supposed to in MSC). But, you can take this a step farther!

The idea would entail a character creation screen similar to the current one, only you would be able to choose things in this order:

Male or Female?
Head type? (1)(2)(3)(4) [with pictures, bald]
Hair type? (1)(2)(3)(4) [pictures with head shown too]
Body type? (1)(2)(3)(4) [pictures of full body shown, default clothes]
Clothing? (colors) [changes the color of thier garments, just different skins]

This way, not everyone would look the same! you actually have 128 choices, discluding colors! and of course, since you're just modelling parts...you only have to make a fraction of that many models!

FOLLOW THIS IDEA!!! It is good :D

Albeit, almost every MMO today uses this system, it is because it ROCKS! So, concluding that only about forty (being optimistic here everyone) people play MSC online, and will probably be some new people looking for a new mod once MS:S is out... I'd say we could ALL have a completely separate looking character :D

yeah, we could ALL have our own model, technically...

and if races were implemented aswell...there would be an INSANE ammount of possible combinations! (though not all races would have all options, ie skeletons have no hair...)

Allready in developement lads :) Just not very far! :p (Like the entire Source side of the mod really :p)

How about dynamic weapon models? Like Squirrel said only with weapons:

Edge type? (1)(2)(3)(4) [with pictures of the blade]
Hilt type? (1)(2)(3)(4) [pictures with the hilt]
Handle type? (1)(2)(3)(4) [pictures of the handle]

It could be used for randomisation.

that could be pretty cool for some of the rarer items, or decorative items...

maybe you could even go to an NPC to get special things added to your weapons.


of course, this all adds loads of time to modelling.
