Gah, I've been looking at this over and over again, and I still can't think what would cause him to go blind, but still have his AI enabled.

I know we've had various issues with monsters "going blind" since November, if not earlier. Keledros not noticing people in his room for instance (he now does this my hearing, as well as sight to compensate).

...The only way I can think of fixing this for sure, is disregard the line-of-sight requirement for attacks, and just attack when in range. The main problem with that is, monsters will start attacking players through walls and such. :(

One possibly relevant question: Does he start "doing olimpix" when you first arrive - or does he start doing this after a certain time, or after some discernable event - for instance, after his first flame burst or something?

...I've got one report of a Kodiak doing this - but more oft I hear about the new, faster moving skeleton bosses doing this sort of thing. I dunno if it could be related to the model - somehow it's bounding box interfering with its LOS, or some such. The bears and Keledros are scaled/altered models too, so it maybe related, I dunno.

i can confirm rats became mad in calruin2 when i was playing alone, it attacked me around 4 times, then ran away, kept running until it hit a wall, stopped then ran again towards another wall.

Meh, what is that, four Elite bandits in one place? No wonder the mid-levelers are pissed... (You can see that I still haven't gotten to play the damned map.)

You can also tell they can still "hear" - tis why they all face you when you swing. But they don't come after you, as they don't "see" you.

At least it seems they react normally once attacked, so it's not a completely exploitable bug.

Then again... You have him vulnerable here, yes? Cuz it seems, unlike the bandits, he's not resuming normal behavior. Still doing his repulse flame bursts, but those are on a timer.

So you are fairly certain this happens when a player leaves the server? But it doesn't always coincide with the chat bug, and doesn't always affect all the monsters. Blarg, mega-confusing.

If both Atholo and the Bandit Boss (not the elites, but the big bandit boss) are doing it, then its affecting both the old and new AI's.

Maybe try this: get a typically affected monster to attack you, then reconnect - see if he starts doing it as a result? Not that I couldn't test that myself, but someone may get to it before I do.

Thothie, also in the_keep, one of the elite bandits in the dinning room spawns dead (rarely tough)

but i wouldn't have thought he could do that...did you do anything special to annoy him?

i had no idea he could jump so high, that wall is huge. easy to fix and is probably a pretty rare occurrence, so no worries.

Blarg, I should have thought of that... It's not an easy fix though. It'd require a recompile, and apparently we lost the final source. :\ (Just have the last one I sent replica)

Thothie, three elite bandits to be exact, three trained bandit archers, and another three trained bandit archers in that elevated area.

And that Atholo "doin olympix" movie: yes, he was vulnerable at that time.

Also, yesterday, I had Atholo "doin paralympix", and his minions did the same. Look at the bandit movie again, but then imagine it's Atholo and his stone skeleton minions standing there (and imagine it's in the Venevus chamber).

Mikkel and I would rush into the chamber, charge up our golden axes, walk towards Atholo, who was just standing there (in the exact same manner as those bandits) and hit him. Then he'd attack and we'd suicide in the pits, repeat. That's actually quite an exploit, but we really wanted to kill him after doing all the parts of the map before that.

Still, as far as I can see, there are two variants of the bug:
1) Monster X starts running around as fast as he can and doesn't attack back even when attacked.
2) Monster X stands still and sometimes (not often) walks around and attacks back when attacked.

And although I can not confirm this for you, I am quite sure that this only happens when (a) player(s) leave the server.

So I finally saw that movie on YouTube Dridje posted (I'm on Vista now) and that there is exactly what I experienced a few times - with the exception of the video I uploaded, where the petrified blademasters actually still are attacking.

The ice wall thing was odd, and the idiot using the fireball at the end (Atholo is immune to fire) was funny :oldlol:

Got something running on the beta-server that may help with it. If you see it happening on my server, give me a heads up.

Also some other fixes there

There's a free edict issue that may come up with Atholo (not olympix, but server death), that won't be fixed until next month, as it requires client side patch.
