MS:C is far from dead, if I have anything to do about it. ;)

Well, I think it's mostly the hands in the field of view that make it appear small, the crossbow takes up roughly 3/5 of the screen but due to the hands being close to the eye it looks like the crossbow is sort of small. In reality from third person view its pretty big.
Compared to the current crossbow:

It's pretty heavy. What I can do though is when i compile it, I can scale it up in model viewer and then change the origin via the QC, which would make it pretty humongous.

Oh, and I use 3dsmax8.

It just happens that this mod is made on the HL engine, and as long as people find it funny they will keep playing the game. I find it pretty stupid when people think that because it looks better IT WILL play better. Nowadays every game looks great graphically, making it hard to guess if its actually good.

Even so, we have some models that are Sourceworthy, like the Bludgeon, and maybe even that kewl Dwarf model.

Maybe not everyone is modelling for source because sourceSDK is really huge (800MB wtf?)

Full Crossbow Video
(the arrow jumps at the end of the reload, i'll fix that)
Well, I think it's done. Just needs to be skinned, and then compiled with larger scale and modified origins.

it's not a question of graphique.
The map are such biger, weapons more realistique etc etc.
Graphique is a question of advertisement.
The gameplay in the hl1 engine is dev ti his best. Now the game need a engine changement,to break the limit again.
With more people playing, the game isn't more funny?
Graphique attract people, then let's have fun.

Bloody engrish. ;)

I think the main reason we don't see too many people working on Source models is that, at the moment, there's nothing to model for. There's no real coder on the Source team, try as I might to find one, and everytime we think we've found one, he instantly becomes the most hated person in the whole community. So again, really, there’s nothing to model for.

I have the Source SDK, and I have glanced over it, but the more I look at it, the more I realize there’s thousands of bugs in it that I could spend my entire life combing through forums to find solutions to before I ever got started on the game itself.

Problem with scaling the model is it makes the hands bigger too, and thus you wind up with the effect that it looks as though you are using it with the stock of the bow up against your nose. ;)

Thats why i said to adjust the origins in the .qc afterwards as well

(even though now that I think about it no matter how much you adjust the origins and scale the model, it will look roughly the same)

I seriously doubt unless you are on computers 24/7 that the average person knows how to wipe a drive..

I only had to do it once before with format C and I tried to use format C and it didn't work so I asked.

Back on topic.. nice work with the crossbow. Much better than the one thothie plans on using. >_>

Efing sweet animations.

You should like.... keep making new models and animations. Cuz that would be rad.

Also, fix/replace/add animations to exsiting models.

I forgot to say, but after he puts the bolt on both hands are off the crossbow for like half a second, could you make it so it falls a tiny bit while the hands are off. Just looks floaty to me :p.
