Hello again everyone! I couldn't remember my old account info so I made a new one, not that anyone would remember me. I used to play a long time ago under the name Vorpal.

I started playing again yesterday, and last night after getting to level 11 realized that even though there is a lot of new content, there isn't much to do until higher levels. I've been mapping for a few years, so I sketched out a new mid level map idea and started working on it this morning. I was thinking of a map that runs sort of parallel to the Thornlands, with similar monsters but more quests if I can figure out how to do them! Right now I'm reading Thothie's post on the basics of MSC ents so hopefully I can get some screenshots up soon. If anyone has any better suggestions or ideas for a map I'm all ears! I just need to get back into low poly mode after mapping for source a lot recently...

You are The Vorpal Blade and you used to have an avatar of a stick figure that said "Blargh!" if I remember correctly

Some people, including me, keep saying this, but there are constantly stupid dicks who are too dumb to realize this and they're like "lol ima maek ubar hard mape" which is very, very annoying. So I hope you can deliver a good mid-level map for all the mid-level people who are in need of some new, playable content.
Keep it up

Yay someone remembers me!
I'm making pretty good progress so I should have a couple screenshots or so tomorrow!

There will definitely be rats, boars, spiders, and probably some skeletons! I'd also like to have a couple quests in it if possible!

You need a bludgeon and the b_castle boss.

Don't forget that I can easily come up with PLENTY of (low level) maps, and quickly. If you find me mappers, I'll get all the (low level) maps ingame that you want

Yeah I'd really like to get some more 10-20 stuff ingame. That's where my char is at anyway, so expect the map to have stuff geared towards those levels. Also, should I just leave out treasure and stuff and just put placeholders, or has the cheatmap criteria changed?

You put in places for treasure chests, and when the map is ready to be released, Thothie generally goes through the map, checks ent tables and such, and puts in appropriate treasures. (Btw, NEVER test on FN ;-))

That is not even remotely funny. The last thing this game needs is more maps with enemies that ramp so insanely fast that they're downright boring to fight.

Hahaha, oh man.
Anyways I was just cleaning out my bookmarks a few days ago and found the forums still there so I checked them out and hey! MS got updated a ton while I was away. I also got a lot better at mapping and was itching for something to do, so I just had to work on something for MS heh. I'm gonna post some screenshots today at some point, I just need to finish a couple things.

Probably too many shots for how little I have done of the map, but I just wanted to give people an idea of what I'm doing. The cave isn't finished yet, and I need to add furniture and rubble to the poor dude's house. I should probably have some bushes and stuff in the first areas too to break things up.
Any suggestions, ideas, or critiques are welcome of course. I need ideas for what to do with the rest of the map. I plan to have the cave from his house end up leading you out into the drained pond or something. Spiders and skeletons for sure! Sorry for the huge shots :<

if you had a house with a huge hole in the wall leading to some cave someplace - would you use two wood boards? lol.

Try making it a concrete wall or wood wall with a texture that is different than the other ones you've used, and increase it's health.
