Basically I was looking for something (cheats, exploits and hacks if you really must know) and I stumbled across this thread. How come you never released these shields? They both look very nice, especially the second one.

As you probably know, there's a giant hole in the first one but I get the strange feeling that's intentional.

Because I'm not a modeller I don't really know what's still left for you to do before you can release these models (other than skin them I guess), but I'd really like to see them in-game.

Because, you know, this game really needs more shields

Shield looks good, but i have to admit the skin reminds me of a flag... You should try changing the white with something else, maybe gray/black or something you prefer.

Thought I did post some C&C. (I was gonna post some C&C, but then I got high)

Obviously you know what my thoughts are on the model itself; is good. But as Zeus said it looks like a flag (a crusader one to be exact). Try some different styles, show off your ability to do things in photoshop.

Fixed it up a little, nothing big though. Still don't know how to UVmap, can't find a tutorial for it either. Eh.

Personally the style of the texture os ok, problem is more about the quality of it (a bit blurry and imperfect)

The blurriness is from the brushes I used in Photoshop, the newer ones simulating actual paintbrushes you'd see in real life. Was trying to make it look like a banged up(ish) iron shield that a soldier or the like would've painted the lines onto. Looks meh, but honestly, all I have to skin this with is a not-very-precise laser mouse combined with either stretching my arm to a table or using fabric/carpet. I'll probably mess around with it some more. I'm hoping to get a tablet sometime, but I doubt I'll be able to get it any time this week. QQ

As for the second shield, I haven't done much with it since I still haven't been able to get this one right.

I uploaded the MS3D file in case anyone actually wanted it. I haven't touched this in forever so I don't know any details on it other than I'm pretty sure it's UVmapped but I never made the skin for it. If another file is necessary, PM me or something, I'll see what i can do.

Did anything ever happen with this little guy? My personality seems to change rapidly from year to year, like bi-polar-ish (I'm looking through my post history wondering who the fuck has been posing as me) and I suppose at the time I put this shield on my list of high hopes, I was reckless and/or undependable of a sort; more interested in playing random games if you will. I'm looking into learning programming, starting with Python, to see if I can manage it. I figure, if I am actually capable of doing so (I'd probably need help, a talking-through or lead or something), I'd be willing to see if it could be finished. I probably have my original files here somewhere.

I'd love to see this shield go places one day; it's one of the few things I've done in 17 (and soon 18) years that doesn't feel like a complete waste of life.

Edit: Well, this and maybe the Acid Plate, I still feel a little proud saying I at least put the framework up for a new color in the MS:C armor rainbow . (I screwed up one of the texture files or something somehow, tl;dr Sabre actually created the version seen in-game, in about 1/5 the time it took me )

This is what adults like to call "being a teenager"
