Still figuring one out. I've got a general idea of what I want a map to BE, but I'm not sure about how to bring it about or anything like that.

R_Speeds on those terrain hammer shots? Did they even compile? Some of the meshes look too complicated to get to compile right, without some faces disapearing and getting odd clipping errors.

Of course, that is all fine mapping if you know how to get it to run properly and not lag the HL1 engine.

All of the compiled screenshots looked quite Doom/Quake like (even the ones with different textures). very simple and room like.

All of the better looking screens (otherend, dreams6, bored) look great, but are also the ones that I can't see running well without some serious planning and entity brush work etc.

Welcome to the forums, be sure to take those crazy ideas and make them a reality in MS:C that runs just as good as it looks ;)

Actually, if you just want to donate sources for other people to convert, we take those too. :)

Thothie, I wonder if you could make up to more than 3 character? I found a way to have a drop menu rather than having the photo on source.

Meh, if you really need someone to make every decision, I'll say make it 3 characters, if it'll make things go any quicker.

I've no idea why he's even asking me though...

A drop-down menu?
Doesn't sound intriguing at all. I like how my characters are sort of displayed when choosing a character (though in MS:C, there's no real purpose to start a new character unless you want to be a beginner again).

But it doesn't have to be limited to 3.

A drop down menu with a display of the current character selected could work though. If that's what you had in mind.

I like the idea of:

<- [Character "picture"] ->

Click the arrows to scroll through characters. It would be much like we have now, but you could have as many characters as the engine would allow. (You would probably have 1 slot taken up by "Create New" that is always there until you fill your character load)

I think 3 is a good number. You really only need one character + maybe another one or 2 for the extra bag space. But hopefully, source won't have the 75 item limit.

In DAoC I had two Healers. One big, sturdy male dwarf, who I considered a cleric type who'd rage into battle (he had damage shield and damage add, as well as buffs).

My other healer was a cute little female dwarf. She was a pacifist and focused on pure healing.

People shouldn't be limited to only 3 characters, because it leaves little room for roleplaying.

If Source actually has a working class system (or anything to make it so all characters are the same), I will most likely have lots of characters.

You know how indecisive he has to be to asking me - don't give him more options! ><
