This is not the only map I plan to make.
I feel that this would give people an alternate low/mid leveling experience. Sfor is really good, but not for days of grinding.
After I am done with this low/mid (level 10-22ish) map, I plan to make a higher level dungeon that I'll need some help with... I plan to have new enemies in my high level dungeon.

Yea need moar nightmare maps :wink: (nightmare foutpost would be quite simple to make and awesome). And I'm glad to see a new mapper, keep up the good work :)

Good job, sergeant! Is that your first attempt at mapping ever? If so, damn good job. I've always wanted to make maps for MSC myself but never have because I assumed it would require 1-3 years of hard work before I could make anything of that quality. If that is your first attempt, do you draw or are you a graphics designer in real life?

I am really happy to see someone working on lower level maps because in my opinion we actually need more of those than high level maps.

As for the music, I'll see if I can compose something for you some time. From my experience music writing is kind of a hit or miss endeavor, though, so I can't promise anything and I certainly can't promise you anything in a timely manner. Anyhow, good work and thank you for contributing to this community.

That would be awesome! I don't feel I'll be done with this map any time soon, but if you make me a song, I'd love it.

I don't usually draw out maps. I imagine a place, and make shapes as if I were to be there seeing it. Usually it turns out terrible compared to how I imagine it, but it is acceptable.

Also, thanks for agreeing with me about low level maps :)

Thanks for all the positive feed back, but don't be afraid to tell me if it sucks. I try my hardest to make it good, but after a long time of looking at it, sometimes I might settle for less then the best; if so, tell me please.

In regards to the "please destroy my ego and rape my map with advice" request, IDK if you got my reply, but PM map sauce, and I will do so when I get the chance.

I take it, despite some of the comments on here to the contrary, this is not your first map though.

You make it sound so harsh. Yeah, I'll get that map to you soon, been busy.

This is actually not technically my first map, but it is the one I've been working on longest. I made four decent (blocky) maps before this one to test random things and such. This is the first map I've made and wanted to submit anywhere beond my own computer.

Anyone see Rehab around? I figure he may have gave up on the forums... I left him a PM nearly two weeks ago, and he hasn't answered it.

I dun wanna waste time working on his scripts if he isn't going to be around to populate the map himself. I'll do it myself later if need be, but trying to figure priorities.

I suppose this would be a bad time to tell you that your map got bumped up another month, along with everything else, cuz it seems this month is going to be strictly a bug fixing month. >_> These scripts are simpler - just weaker versions of existing beasts for the most part, with no screwy lore changes...

In anycase, the question was, has anyone seen Rehab, cuz I *may* just put it off until after Nash, if I have to also populate the map myself.

On a more serious note, I was looking forward to this as well.

It's not his first... He's got some experience... Seems he's gotten into a few near-fatal habits as well, but the map as a whole is quite usable as is, aesthetically and structurally. It'll need some optimization, and a lot of monsterclips to aid in proper navigation, for the shape of some structures and areas are quite odd, and only the gods knows what crazy issues will crop up after it's populated.

I just don't have time to write up the scripts AND populate it myself, ATM though. So unless he shows up, I'll put off the scripts until later.

Wow, you have no idea how much this helps... I've been having a really hard few months lately and haven't beenable to be near my computer. I think I'll beable to work on it again now-ish though. Thank you for caring and remembering me, seems a little unusual and reassuring. :)

On another note, this isn't my first map, just the first one that I have shown anyone else (Closet Mapper)

Oh good... You're back. This may save me some work. ;) I see you finally picked up the PM I sent you nearly two months ago... Thought you died on us ala Avoozl. ;)

I'd since come up with the idea of creating a self-adjusting map with four tiers (10-20,21-30,31-35,36-40+), as well as some sort of left 4 dead style beasties that require mild teamwork to avoid - such as a lightning goblin with an electric whip that immobilizes you, unless he gets smacked by another player (ala "Smoker"), and maybe a goblin pouncer, who leaps on you, and pins you to the ground, lest another player again comes along and smacks him (ala "Hunter"). Also had a concept for a scarab trap - some sort of egg sack that blew up into a spew of scarabs if you accidentally hit it during a battle.

Complicated set of scripts though - ATM, I'm tied up with Shad Villa. If you want to populate a map with your original plans (just nerfed level 15-25 elite goblins and orcs), I can take the time to make those, as it wouldn't take as much time away from the higher priority project - that's turning out to be just painful to work on.

It would also be nice if you cleaned up the invalid structures on this map - some of them seem to make up the forest turns in various sections though - be time consuming for me to do it myself.

I think the self-adjusting map idea is insanely awesome and would be more benifitial for everyone (except maybe you since you have to do all the work) - I'd be willing to wait if it makes the map 10x more played.

... Egg Sacks?! you must be begging for some Leeroy Jenkins players, but its fun anyways :D

I still need to make the walls invisible on the outside or however you say it, it won't take me very long.
