That can record videos in games at a resolution of 1024*768 (preferred) or 800*600 (minimum) at 30 FPS and it must save the videos as QuickTime MOV videos.

So basically I'm looking for a FRAPS-like program that outputs standard MOV formats.
Any ideas?

Can't you find a .mov converter? Seems easier than finding a .mov recorder.

I would suggest ZD soft Game Cam (much better than fraps) but I don't know if it has .mov support or not.

Just record them and convert them to .mov;
Search google for 'super video converter'
Free, easy, and it doesn't get off cue, even in full-length movies.

Well, the problem is that FRAPS outputs AVI files that are encoded with some sort of weird custom FRAPS codec and I already tried the DivX converter (which is quite good) but it can't recognize the files. But I'll Google for that converter you mentioned, Sabre. Thanks.

I dunno why'd you want use the god-awful MOV format, but you can drop the Fraps files into Windows Movie Maker and make WMV's.

Virtualdub will of course let you convert it into any AVI format you have a codec for. TMPEG will convert it into MPEG format. But neither of those is real user friendly.

Sorenson Video Squeeze is what I use on those rare occasions I have to convert to MOV - but it ain't free.

Video capture formats are always bloated, as there's next to no compression. There are MOV video capture formats, but they tend to be proprietary to specific camera hardware.

Just for your information, the reason why I need MOV files:
I'm doing this little project with a green screen with some friends of mine, and the person who owns the green screen and the camera we're using has a MacBook (oh god) hooked to it. He has this awesome program that can filter the green screen away in real-time (most programs do that during the post-processing phase) and now we're looking for useable media to replace the green screen with. Images and (looped) movies. Unfortunately, this program only accepts MOV format...

record a demo
Save every frame as a picture
and then....
convert the pictures to a movie, (High quality)

I think u can do all of this with the console, and then convert all the frames to an movie with some kind of a program

Well, MOV's are kinda like AVI's, in that they can have any one of a great number of codecs encapsulated in them. You are likely going to find it won't take just any MOV format, but only a very particular MOV format.

Sadly, aside from Adobe Premier (which wont help you) I'm not very familiar with OSX based video editing/converting sofware. Even Sorenson may not be able to get the exact MOV format you need.
