ORLY, i was thinking on removing that but i was too lazy to edit and reupload...

And the original owner of this account is my older brother, i "stole" it from him and changed the email address (muahahaha)

(Not really stolen, he didn't use it and told me i could use it if i wanted, but i did find the login info and took it for me entirely)

I found this conversation mildly humorous

Hero Stoned: Makes me wish I can eat space
Rev. Avacado the Wonderswan: you can eat it
Rev. Avacado the Wonderswan: eat a raspberry
Rev. Avacado the Wonderswan: they're delicious
Rev. Avacado the Wonderswan: I wish I knew a good raspberry soda
Hero Stoned: Raspberry soda is a good raspberry soda
Rev. Avacado the Wonderswan: none of the places I get my food
Rev. Avacado the Wonderswan: SELLS IT
Hero Stoned: Hmm
Hero Stoned: Steal it
Hero Stoned: LOL
Rev. Avacado the Wonderswan: none of the places I get my food sell it
Rev. Avacado the Wonderswan: how do I steal it
Rev. Avacado the Wonderswan: if I don't know any place that has it
Hero Stoned: erm
Hero Stoned: so how are you
Rev. Avacado the Wonderswan: I'm good

Such ignorant mothers... Never in the history of mankind has there been actual scientific proof of a direct link between video games and violence.

Why are they ignorant? There might not be a "direct link" but if you don't think violent -anything- has an influence on people's behavior, especially with a developing child combined with poor parenting skills that get daily doses of violence that they perceive to be the norm, then that stance ya got their might be pretty ignorant.

Violence alone -- not in combination with bad parenting, that's a different issue -- might influence certain people, but the near-negligible fraction (of the aforementioned group of people) that actually goes on a killing spree after playing video games was possibly already nuts to begin with.

Which brings me back to my point: Just because a handful of people (who so happen to play video games) kill themselves or others doesn't mean there's a direct link between video games and violence.

But perhaps ignorant is the wrong word to choose, I'll admit that. And these age-ratings on games are there for a reason. However, it just bothers me that so many people (concerned mothers who do raise their kids properly included) just simply assume there is a link between violence and video games, because people like Jack Thompson say so.

I don't want to kill the thread so here is humor:

If anything, it provides an outlet that reduces violence. Besides, the folks that tend to push for this sorta censorship grew up on Bugs Bunny cartoons considered so violent that you can't even air them uncensored anymore, and were regularly exposed to them at a much younger age than the kids who play video games.
