It looks ok, though compiled into a lit environment would make it nicer :)

Try and work on the architecture a bit more, make it a little quirky :)

what do u mean "quirky" i dont know what that word means :(

Quirky, or Quirk

Basically the things that make it interesting, break up the symmetry, part of the roof is broken. A window is smashed.

The little interesting things that give it character :)

Imperfection, is perfection :)

well, the story to the building is, the town has been cursed by the un-dead and the mayors gone crazy and borded him self in... the town is still alive but everyday they have to fight off the un-dead be it zombies, skelletons or gouls ... eventually you will go down under the town thru a hidden passage below one of the graves out side of town and defeat a boss come back and the mayor still wont unboard his house... the town person who gives u the quest says thank you, youve done your job there's nothing else u can do and gives u a reward and tells u that the town will do its best to bring its self back to normal including convincing the mayor that the undead are gone.... so i dont really want it to be abandoned and run down... just borded up :p any other suggestions?

oh and thats if thothie will make this NPC for me.

More, make it interesting. Give the building some character, give the architecture a bit more love, add some little details.

hmmm maybe on the right side of the mayors house, i could knock out the garden infront and round it out? i dont see what else detail i could add. id just really like some hint :p

I can't make you change it, but I hope these images inspire you to take your building to the next level. Use your imagination to make it interesting to look at for players. Add some visual guides that will let the player know that this is the mayors house (not just a sign outside :p).

Note: You don't have to have a tower, it just happens they were the more interesting pictures I found ;)

Anyway, hope that helps a little :)

IMO it seems slightly oversized...dun worry about that too much - lots of people have that problem, just decraese a few thickness issues and make sure doors are only about 4-8 units taller than people ;)

other than that it seems to be lookin pretty good...just remember the half life mapping basics (enclosed spaces good) - so perhaps it be some sort of town nestled in the mountains, like edana ;)

Yea... like Edana... but with actual mountains that look nice :D

I mean seriously... Edana mountains have a lot of sheer drops and are extremely blocky looking... as though a toddler's play-dough mountain was used as the basic for them :oldlol:

elevation is your friend along with detail. make it look beautiful (in its own way), make it fun to play (where people want to go back), and make it unique where it isnt like any other map.

hard but can be done... my 2 cents anyway

im asking about the building not the layout... thats not even been touched yet... will be done when i add the smaller details... its a town/village in the forest... so im going to have trees surrouding it...

if just about the house. it looks good so far though as Gaz said, could use more detail. But if left like that, would be good enough
