I downloaded the MS 1.35 and the Steam patch and put the MS 1.35 in the half life folder and the patch in the ms 1.35 folder, but when I start it I only see 1.3 servers, is this supposed to happen?
If you see any servers, and it's not in the "msyar" folder instead of "ms" you got the right patch. The servers all misread as 1.25 right now, with the exception of mine and JM's and one or two others. Hell's Diner is actually running without the Steam patch, but that doesn't stop you from playing there.
Basically, if you see a server, you can probably play on it. If not, it's not the version difference, but more likely a firewall or networking issue. Such things plague this game none-other. Plenty of advice for that in the forums here though.

Just a few mistakes in version numbers. Now this may sound confusing, but v1.25 = v1.3 = v1.35... In the Steam Servers window you see servers hosting v1.25 or v1.35. You can join both.
The home page has screenshots from the expansion MS:C (which is in the making). that blue thing is your mana, which is not in the current version of ms.
That's just the entry Steam uses for the game. It will keep that name whether you rename your folder or not. So long as "ms" is your play folder, however, you're fine. (I've no idea what the Yar stands for, actually)
Also, does the attack on Helena work all the way now?
All the Steam patch does is fix a few existing items and models (such as the Dark Helmet model). This is actually a patch that existed for the WonID version, I guess someone forgot to port it over. Both versions are 100% of compatible with one another.

I believe the story went like this: I gathered all the latest (legal) MS files and I bundled them into one package so newcomers wouldn't have to download two separate files (or more). I sent the file to Kuroneko so he could check out if it was legal, and for some obscure reason he named the "ms" folder (which was in the file, duh) to "msyar".
Yeah, I had his folder in my HL folder so I could test it. However, I had to rename it so it wouldn't interfere with my install. I forgot to name it back before rar'ing it.
