You should take out the blockyness to it first. The house does not have to be a perfect rectangle you know, put some creativity into it and add a side extension with a backdoor or something.
The spider cave is too blocky too. Use triangles to give it the displacement effect you can use in hl2 mapping. I'd recommend using more than just the spider texture as well - maybe use a rock texture for random spots where there are no spider webs? You'd be surprised how adding one more texture into the mix can make it look tons better. Keep up the good work.
You have the basic ideas for mapping down- now start experimenting with the advanced.
I forgot to mention that you should add in height variability to your level. Make it so the ground terrain around the house isn't all at the same height, for example.
