vouching isn't anything all that much anymore it was needed before because I needed to trust you a great deal before I would be willing to give up the password. However now I am willing to give a password based on post count, day joining, and how literate someone is, I also go by what my gut feeling is.

I only use my own server if there is no other server that runs well. I hardly use the password at all, only for cases like soloing sfor with my lvl 13 hardy archer. Now if I went in ANY other server and went to sfor, I'd be right next to the tresure chest or only just started and some random annoying guy comes in and votes for thornlands or something stupid... If the server isn't on what they want they just vote for it no matter what the other people want.

everyone was put into a randomly yet not so random arrangement.

the only port that could be considered a "class" would be port 5709, its where everyone new will start. That way the people I do trust don't have to worry about password changes. Unless someone in there group of course forces me to change it.

Just because I enjoy saying "plox" doesn't mean I am incapable of typing the word "Please". It isn't even shorthand, mind you. Shorthand is something completely unrelated. Have you ever said "lol" or "brb"? Do you want to punch everyone who uses acronyms because they don't feel the need to constantly type out every word in full?

I can pick out numerous grammatical errors in any of your posts, and can pick out both grammatical and spelling errors in the game at a glance, but I don't choose to make a big deal out of them because they aren't a big deal. If you don't want to give me a password because you feel I would misuse it, then that is your perogative. I don't however, see the need to deny me a password, or to infer that I lack understanding of the English language simply because I used internet lingo.

Its not a matter of acronyms or shorthand, its that fact that "plox" (commonly 'pl0x') is a word that annoying 11 year olds that play runescape use. Its one letter shorter, I mean really theres no point in doing it... it's like "srry".

Australian Master Sword: Continued Server

Hey! I'm new to the forums here, but not new to MS or MSC at all. I have played on and off for many years, not too long with Central Servers, as i preferred not to have lag... When i found out i could host a server though, i did, and i hosted a dedicated server for a few months, but then stopped, due to the lack of Australian players. I only ever reached Level 9

Obviously, I'm here to request permission to host my own dedicated server.

Why?

I am from Australia, and currently every dedicated server reaps a lovely 300 ping on me.

I am.... representing (i guess) a community of gamers called Digital Poison (http://www.digital-poison.net)

We are mainly Australian and we currently Roleplay in The Specialists mod for HL a LOT. Today we decided to try something new, and having a flick through games, I came across MSC! I instantly told them all about it and sent screen shots! Decided to get the latest version and host my server again so we could all play together. I was ecstatic because finally i have a big bunch of Australian friends to play with!

After i got it all up and running... I realised i couldnt connect to the central server, and after much confusion, i realised there was a password. So i joined a server to ask about it, and i talked to coleSlaw... Who told me i needed to talk to you.

So there you have it, i hope you decide I'm worthy of your trust, and allow my friends an i to enjoy MSC with good pings :} Also, just on a sidenote of trust, i used to talk to and play with thoth a fair bit (he helped me get my first server up and running when i encountered ridiculous errors with routers and such), but i havent spoken to him in.... god knows how long now.

if yer looking to host for the public then you would need the password. However if your looking to do role play and such you don't really need the password. You can have characters save to your dedicated server in the save folder and you and all your buddies can play in it and load characters and what not.

Only disadvantage would be you couldn't connect to public servers and load your character.

We'll be playing the game how its meant to be played, not RP Although, maybe in good time, RP could occur.

So yeah, i'd be requiring the password.

It's 5:30am now.... I've spent the last 4 hours craving MSC and trying to get it to work! I'm pretty sure everythings downloaded, installed, configured and ready to go, except the password! So im going to go to bed now...


I hope to god theres a nice little password present waiting in my PMs tomorrow morning :} .....and i hope my router doesn't be a whoreface after if i get the password!!! But its worked before, so it should now.

hello, like many others this is a password request. i have just recently joined the fourms but have followed this mod since the start. i mostly play on a hosted server between myself and my brother but would be open to anyone who would want to join in.

i personally feel that the whole design of the password system is a great idea.

as well as this request, is there anyway to get a local char onto FN?, not really the strongest char, with no great items, but it saves the time to grind up to lvl 10...

Blasto will not port a character to [FN], sorry...But you will have the advantage of interacting with helpful people, so lvl 10 will be simple

i have always found that the majority of people playing this mod online are willing to help out others, but then again whats the point of playing a mod like this online if you do it to piss off others.

One thing that I failed to say before is much the reason for hosting myself. Doing this allows traveling to (and starting) which map, we want to be on, rather then being dragged along into a high level map where even the start is certain death, it gives me a chance to play at the pace I want, while still having the ability to hang out with all of the cool people online. I enjoy this mod immensely and find that this would only heighten that feeling. In addition to that I have a few people from other mods that I would give a chance to get accustomed to this mod.
All I ask is that you give my request a serious thought.
