Well... We have stuff to detect speed h4x. We've got stuff to detect certain evil programs... And we might have proper map MD5 verification by next patch, and dependably appened files on FN... Only other thing I think we'd really need is something that can decompile characters on mass into a table we can check over for oddities. Then maybe we can make the FN password public again and see how it goes?

Well... I was bored sometime last week and made a function to save some decrypted stats in a manner that is easily readable. My initial goal was to have it send to FN (now possible through MiBs function?) to a new folder for character info files then take those files and run them through a program to import all the character info to a SQL database, and then make a player info website out of it (sans items). I thought it would be a nice way to track cheaters and such. My efforts to make a separate program just for the purpose of decrypting character files failed, the easiest way is to get the info before its encrypted.

Hrmmm... Don't want to lag out FN or the sever sending too much stuff at once though. I was already considering rigging it to append an item log, so we'd have a list of who got what where when - might be able to combine a level-up log with that. (Probably should stop musing over security functions in public. )

Unrelated, and I'd have to be adding yet more stuff to the "MSC++" task list, but ya know how we capture client commands via "game_playercmd" (search)? - Think ye could make a similar function that captures server console commands? It'd be nice if the msc_admin stuff could be done from server console as well.

Took a quick look and I'm not seeing anyway to do it right away. Kinda busy with viewmodelprops anyways. I think I've almost got it working, but it seems as though I've set up the script command wrong.

Remember to set it up at the top where all the "m_GlobalCmds.add( scriptcmdname_t( "xxx" ) );" lines are. Probably the #1 thing I tend to forget to do when I'm making them - after semi-colons.

As for the other thing, I can't even figure where server console commands are parsed.

Do you have an example of a server side console command? I thought they were all clientside..

He means so that it sends the script event when theres a command input into the server console. At least thats what I thought.

The server console is the dedicated server console thing, the client console is the ingame (~) thing.

Yeah, game_playercmd does not capture commands made from the HLDS console - just from the listenserver console (and then, only because they come in as player commands, not server commands).

FYI, don't worry about how much you are sending the server. You have about a meagbit up and down you can play with, considering I don't host game servers anymore you can use the bandwidth for more fancy FN stuff. Like said SQL database, I can even manage the silly thing. (even if I hate databases with a firey passion) if we really wanted to get crazy I could also install Apache or something like so and can make a web site out of it for lookups and other query action, Password protected of course with the great powers of Object oriented PHP.

Anyway can we try and keep this the request thread now?

Well, yes, your chances of getting the password is very slim if you haven't done anything but post the request on the forums. Go post around, show us you're interested in this game. I mean, the reason why the password was instated is so that people we didn't know (and, unfortunately, can't trust) were making servers and hacking.

Go show us your personality, and request again in a bit. I'm sure Blasto would be happy to give you the password again.

Not even a reply, hope he doesn't find me unworthy, or... too stupid to have the password. I guessing it's because I ain't popular enough around here. alright I know there is quite a few people who wish I would just give them the password, and I know some have made an effort to get into the community. So post again, so I know who you are let me review your previous posts and I will make the call.

Let me also clarify that if you can get a vouch from a high ranking guild member from either of the three big guilds (RiP, BoU, tPoD) then yes that will help your case.
