I just downloaded the game, and installed. Then it crashed everytimeIi tried to create a server. So I downloaded the dlls, put them in the right place, and now instead of crashing, it it loads the map and has a messed up screen, and goes back to the main menu after about a minute.
C'mon I really want to play this mod, can anyone help me at all?

First, install MS:C with STEAM closed...
the installer is located on the main homepage for MS:C

Next go too this page...

http://www.msremake.com/patches.php

Download everything... Install this way

Version 1.01 testing -> extract into C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\{Email address goes here}\half-life\msc

SC.DLL -> C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\{Email address goes here}\half-life\msc\dlls

MS.DLL -> C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\{Email address goes here}\half-life\msc\dlls

Client.DLL -> C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\{Email address goes here}\half-life\msc\cl_dlls

PLEASE NOTE... The version 1.01 testing has the same files inside of it... Please make a backup of the dll's folder and the client dll's folder in the event a server is not running the same ones... As this has been the case on numerous occasions and an imcompatable DLL will result in you not being able too connect and it saying "your {so and so}.dll differs from that of the server's" or something like this...

Installation of the MS:C game first... Version 1.01 testing Second... Then the DLL's second...

In the event a Steam Update caused an issue... Try this rememdy (again, found by searchin the forums)

in some cases, by deleting the ClientRegistry.blob will also help fix some start-up issues... this is located inside the C:\Program Files\Steam folder...

Please note, that you must have steam closed too do this as well as when you laucnh steam, it will update the Steam client once more...

---Update your video card drives, sound card drivers and use Windows Update if you can...

---Ensure you meet the system requirements too run MS:C (look on the forums, it should list it somewhere)

---Run MS:C in OpenGL and not D3D (as this also was stated on the forums in multiple places)

Unless you are running Linux or something, this should work if you follow the directions above...

You can also refernce these places too...

Please remember too search the forums as searching will find your answers much faster than this way... Too get your answers, it only took me about 5 minutes too do the work for you, post it here and learn a new thing or two so that I may better help myself incase of issues...

Best of luck...
