is there anyway to install a belkin router without a CD? I had to reformat my PC and the router software uninstalled, but I no longer have the CD.

I have a belkin wireless G #F5D7230-4

If anyone could find out for me or if you know of something like an iso of the install CD (if one even exists) that would be great.

normally if you just open your browser to http://192.168.2.1 (by default) you can set it up that way

First thing I tried, got this :

I thought it is 192.168.0.1
Mines is that anyway.

It depends on the router. Look on the manufacturer's site, and you can probobly get better firmware for that router than what you would have normally gotten.

Mine, by default, was set to 192.168.1.1 and the password was admin.

Try resetting the router, too. It should zap any info you changed and put the IP back to default.

They have firmware on their site but I have no idea how to install it.

Whenever I go to my routers IP (198.168.2.1) it just says IE was unable to search or something like that.

I know it is 192.168.2.1 because thats what it is on my laptop, I checked and it works.

But it does not on my other computer.

Maybe your computer is bricked. Could be your network card, maybe?

If it works on one computer, theres absolutely no reason it shouldn't work on another. Try resetting the network settings on your computer, instead of your router.

*edit* Wouldn't it be funny if it turned out he didn't have a wireless card on the computer that isn't working? Before anyone says it: It does happen. I've seen it with my own eyes.

Open up a command prompt, type "ipconfig", and look at the default gateway. That's what you should put in your browser.

192.168.0.4
192.168.0.5
192.168.0.6

Those are the ones i can have, depending which socket i put my cable in.

I was installing drivers on my computer (reinstalling them cause the XP disk said they were all installed)

I went on IE to go to 192.168.2.1....


and the MSN homepage opened.....



























































I'm typing this on the problem computer..
