Someone was playing the Portal song when we were playing Magic.. I was all like "wooo"

btw, this is slightly off to the current topic but is it actualli possible that the character of portal is actualli a andriod??

evidence:
1. i noe the ai is slightly psychotic in her commentary, but at one point she talked abt a "andriod hell" being worse than what it realli was.
2. notice that u take no fall damage? i mean gordon took damage when he hell on his hev suit but she literally cannot die from gravity.
3. u can seem to eat alot of bullets from the sentries as long as u dun eat one salvo for too long a period of time. 2 and 3 might be to balance the game and remove the need for med packs but still i find it suspicious...
4. at the last part (yes i watched the vid many times and even dl-ed the song ^^ its titled still alive), she said that somebody might help you, maybe black mesa... is she suggesting that somebody can fix you? since i dun tink its possible for her to survive from that explosion in close promixity... and we also know that black mesa and aperture science were rivals to each other (proved in epi 2, although i never played it) and thus they might hav specialised in the same thing (robotics and teleportation) . also, nobody from black mesa probably came to help her, since (i read it up on some other forums forgot where) the game takes place earlier than the original hl and thus they probably havent started their xen experiments yet (juz a hypothesis). and if somebody did find her, wad happened to the portal gun (it is siad that it can survive extreme heat when the ai tries to kill u off so it might hav survived teh explosion. then again, maybe the impact destroyed the gun)

some extras i noticed:
1. if u are wondering why i said that it took place earlier than black mesa, somewhere in the game theres a calander that listed the year being somewhere in the 80s.
2. companion cube survives at the ending >.< at the cake scene.
3. the ai's name is actualli GlaDos. i didnt notice until i saw the song lyrics for the umpteenth time. proof is also shown at the end when one of the parts has her name imprinted on it.
4. soooo wad happened to the other experiments who wrote those "the cake is a lie" on the wall? im curious to know...

Did you watch the commentary mode? It explains why she can fall huge distances. The little things on her legs stop her from getting hurt from the falls.
Personally, I'm not sure she's an android, but I don't think so. This is a video game, so don't try to rationalize it too much. I'm not sure she survived the blast or not (though it hints that she does), but there's no indication, from what I've seen, in the HL2 series indicating that there's a portal lady. It would be interesting to see her in ep3 and give you the portal gun, but that's just wishful thinking.

As for the previous people... What do you THINK happened to them? Plenty of them probobly died in the process of the expiriment, if not at the end. Haven't you noticed the jugs of water, cans of beans, and all that stuff in the guts of the laboratory? Who do you think ate and drank that stuff?

The reason GLaDOS mentions android hell is (and I'm suprised you didn't catch this) you went through an android training stage on account of the actual test you were supposed to take being unavailable.

She doesn't take fall damage because of the hooks on her feet. How this makes a difference, I don't know.

You can take a lot of bullets in HL(2), too. It's just something to make the game not incredibly hard.

Help != Fixing an android.

Glados' name is written on her at the end. You can read it if you look up high enough. IIRC, you can also see it after the explosion.

It doesn't happen before the Black Mesa incident. It happens during the initial combine invasion or right after it. Hell, even I have a calendar from '93 in my room. Is it 1993? No.

I'm fairly certain it happens at the same time as Black Mesa (not the incident), as it's a competitor of Black Mesa. (If you don't know where I'm getting this you need to find a projector room ;-))

You must also remember that there are no more employees of Aperture Science left. There is no telling how long Chell had been waiting in that room before GlaDOS decided to test on her. The fact that the place is falling apart and that any trace of life from the previous test subjects has disappeared tells me that some time has passed. No telling how long it took for GlaDOS to finally get around to experimenting on Chell. Fathers don't typically bring their fully grown daughters to work for "Bring you daughter to work day". I am betting she was a child or teen and had been kept there for quite awhile. Locked away from the outside world where the Combine invasion and 7 hour war were occurring. She might even make an appearance in a future hl2 episode.

I realize that the projector bulbs had not burned out. Might be an oversight by the developers, or they are using some super advanced bulbs.

GlaDOS saved the bulb in the projector for years, only turning it on just before you came into the room. As a super computer, she probably has control of the entire electrical system in the complex.
