Currently, the Poison Tomahawk does not seem to do anything that the other tomahawks can do better.

Most, if not all creatures that are weak against affliction magic that wouldn't be dispatched in the same or less amount of hits by a fire, lightning, ice, or even dark tomahawk are either constructs or undead, which are immune to poison anyway. (So they don't take any damage from the tomahawk)

Swapping the damage from poison to acid would make it much more useful.

Which attacks in this game are poison based, and which are acid based?

Edit: I mean both enemy and player attacks.

Also, why not make the 'greater' poison tomahawk (should they ever be implemented) acid based and keep the regular tomahawk as poison?

Poison is a damage over time effect. Acid packs a heavy punch but doesn't do any damage over time. Undead and non-organic enemies have no blood in them to poison. They can still be corroded with acid, though.

I seem to remember acid cloud (Orc poisoner and Voldar) doing damage over time, but I could be mistaken.

The only acid damage attacks that I can recall are:

Runeblade of Affliction's regular attack, first/second charge
Acid Bolt
Acid Cloud (Monster only right now)

Everyone always wants acid because it's more or less the equivalent of Dark energy, given that so few things have any resistance to it (and a few are actually vulnerable). This would be quite a weapon upgrade, needless to say.

I'll do a different upgrade, and double the length of the DOT (effectively doubling the DOT damage), which should help compensate for the large array of things that are poison immune due to lack of working circulatory systems.

Conversely, however, I'll reduce the Ice Tomahawk's damage by 1/3rd to compensate for the advantage the slowing effect the DOT has.

Fire should maybe have it's damaged up, accordingly, as fire has no debilitating effects, but then again, most undead have extra fire vulnerability, and there's a lot of undead, so I'll make the raise 25%.

That's, more or less, the desired DOT damage scheme though: fire high damage with no side effects, poison long DOT but only works on living things, cold low damage, but with slow effect, and lightning being the happy middle ground (moderate damage, some things resist, mild side effects).

(In regards to Acid Cloud - it actually does poison DOT damage, ATM... Need to fix that.)

That sounds fair. Did you say whether or not you had any plans to make it so you can combine the tomahawks into a super one? It'd be awesome until the dual wield system is perfected.

Clearly you have never had beef tataki. ;)

Comparison deconstruction aside, more crap complete in a patch the better, generally.
