Is the system to have a felewyn shard and symbols are broken or updated?
those patch notes doesn't cover the part of this.
after giving symbols to the preist at sfor, the symbols record is still there.
and i killed the boss there was nothing happens.
mind if i ask how is the system working now?
if it is related to spoiler, i will delete the post as soon as possible. Thanks.

Short response: You're fucked
Longer response: You're **********
Actual response:
1 symbol = no more can be obtained until record is wiped (Gets wiped from giving to priest) *Trading exempt
1 shard = no more can be obtained until record is wiped. (Gets wiped if you make the corrupt Felewyn blade) *Trading exempt
If big baddie is killed and top damage player already has a shard = No shard will drop.
Now if your symbol data didnt get erased when you gave the symbols up, that's likely a bug which means you're fucked.
If you killed the boss for another blade to add to yer collection, you're fucked.
If you helped kill the boss for a person who already has a blade too, they're fucked.
If you helped kill the boss for a person who doesn't have a blade but you have top damage points, they're fucked.
If you drop a symbol and lose it, you're fucked.
If you show somebody a symbol for a few moments and they pick it up temporarily, they're fucked.
If you drop a shard and lose it, you're fucked.
If you show somebody your cool shard weapon and they take a few swings with it, they're fucked.
If you trade any symbols or shards for other items and want to get more symbols/shards later, you're fucked.

I'm pretty sure I got it all, however, if I did indeed miss something then somebody will likely post it here.
The fucked quest needs some major changes, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
Also, you can't get a rollback for those symbols that went to 'waste', and I think you know what means.

Also when Thothie sees this response, I think I'm fucked.

This doesn't work anymore since i just tried yesterday.
Anyway, Thanks for your answer.
I am asking this because there isn't a official release about those changes.

You're more or less fucked until some other system is worked out. Suffice to say, there seems to be some bugs in the current system. Upon slaying Undamael, it's supposed to go down through all the players in order, from the highest damage points to least, stopping at those with less than 25% of the average, and skipping any player who has ever touched a Felewyn Shard, since the last time he forged an Unholy Blade.

The symbol data reset for killing Undamael has been suspended, so you have but one shot at it, meanwhile, unless you come across enough extra shards to form an Unholy blade, and thus help cut down on the over propagation.

There's only supposed to be five active in the game world at any given time (one of each Shard #), but we've yet to find a way to rig that up, so meantime, we've just made them an increasingly royal pain to get.

That as got to be the worst idea i ever heard for an online multiplayer game, honestly.
You really want to *limit* apostle weapons to just 1 player in the entire game? This is like rigging a random player with a dev item that no one else will EVER get to use, which sounds pretty stupid. If this game was focused for single player only, then it would make sense to limit 1 apostle weapon for the player, as it would involve making a choice on which of the weapons the player really wanted.

And knowing how ms:c works, someone would likely find out how to exploit this new system of yours and grab the thing first, then question yourself, was it fair play for everyone else, even newer players who would likely never see such items on their screens?

I would alternatively prefer it to be something hard to acquire and you could only do so once, once obtained you can't get rid of it. And by saying hard i mean, instead of making it reserved to just a SINGLE player, you could reserve it for MULTIPLE players, something along the lines of: 1 symbol per player, 1 shard per 5 players, 1 blade per 25 players (i heard this being the plan so many times, it just seems to be getting worst now).

Seriously think about it, if you end up doing stupid stuff like that for later on quests to obtain the apostles, i might just aswell quit FN and play nonFN, since you are promoting single player with that.

The Felewyn Shards are the fragments of the actual Apostle Weapon to be. Hope is, that there'd only be able to be a handful of Felewyn Apostles at a given time (as well as a handful of each of the other 2.5 Apostle Types [er, well, a handful of each of the two other triad Apostles + two other semi-Apostle types, and one post-Apostle type]). Working on limiting it on the Shard end, rather than the Apostle end, as there's no system in sight to limit the latter, at the moment.

You shouldn't be able to get either Shards nor Symbols in single player, so that shouldn't be an issue. It requires five players with five separate numbered Shards to form the final Apostle Weapon in anycase.

There's no exploit-proof way to create such an item at the moment. Though the quest is already designed so that you are only supposed to be able to do it once (lest you reset it by sacrificing excess Shards).

Can't you make the item record the users steam ID and make it so that only that particular steam ID can actually do anything aside from throw the item?

We can't really save and read data on items, only on players. While there has been some effort to create items with the behavior you describe, by saving quest data on the player, but folks have already demonstrated ways of sploiting past such protections. Even if they hadn't, even if it was secure, it still wouldn't provide what we'd really need: the ability to save and read data globally. ie. For FN to know how many Felewyn shards are in the world, and how long it's been since the last active player with any given shard was on, and to dish out new shards accordingly.

Was considering writing server data on certain trusted servers (RKS), and collecting it, but not only would this result in a two-tier hosting system, it'd be a royal pain. Sadly, while reading and writing data to individual servers seems dependable, non-character related FN writes are haphazard, at best, and retrieving the data is entirely manual.
