Ok, I'm working on my mage and I tried to buy a spellbook, but it says that it's too big for me to carry. First, I'd like to note that no, not too heavy. It says too BIG. Second, for those doubters, I emptied my inventory and I still couldn't use it.

I'd like a quick response as I have nowhere to put my fire dart scroll since apparently sacks can't fit pieces of paper. I mean, why would it?

Edit: Wait, it fits in a SMALL sack, but not in a BIG sack.. Wtf? Had to go buy a small one...

Um.. This isn't a problem with equipping. I can't pick it up.

That problem used to happen when joining an outdated server

Ya gotta use the small sack you start with for scrolls. The spell book weighs a bit to discourage n00bs from trying to make pure mages.

That's.. just wrong in so many ways.

Why isn't it telling me that it's too heavy, then?

Cuz apparently that size attribute that doesn't work for our packs and sheaths works just fine for players. ><

My information.
......... MiB don't you have a decently powerful character...

And Thothie; why would a spellbook weigh more than a sack...? Isn't it supposed to be... sorta... magical??

Read the Chatter thing about ReBoot not thinking that non-melee based characters can't suceed/get high level spells. I'm proving it wrong.

Well, it's going to be hard considering I have 5 hp :|

Thothie - maybe magic should also give you a LITTLE HP, or something to allow one hit or so?

Ahh... well you'll never get to solo the big Ice Queen boss on ms_snow without some melee skills :p

One hit, you'll die by that nasty bitch... and since she's immune to all magics, you're screwed against her. So.... HAHA

That'd be on the hard code end. ;)

And she's only immune to fire, ice, and poison (but not acid) - but with 5hp - I don't think you'd ever even SEE her, much less duke it out.

She isn't immune to erratic lightning. Besides, I don't need to fight her. Freezing Sphere isn't something I'm after to prove this

I'm probably just going to get strong enough to get to/defeat Keledros once or twice. That'll be enough to prove you can get high level magic without melee skills. Unfortunately, Thothie had to be a bastard and make Keledros not like magic users.

I dun think Keledros hates magic users anymore than he hates anyone else, so long as you don't hit him with rebuke undead.

...or have like 4 or 5 magic users hitting him at once to the point where the spam filter prevents him from casting his own spells - that REALLY pisses him off.

That only happens if there are so many spells flying around at once that the anti-crash spam filter stops him from using his own. Usually requires a couple of spell casters using sustained things. (Blizzard, Lstorm, volcano, etc)

I personally can tell you it is possible, but very very painful. I broke down and started leveling the other skills so I could actually have HP. For the longest time however I didn't use anything else but magic.

I wish you the best of luck on your challenges ahead of you.

My information.
Blasto; my Vivi char had reached twelve SC before I cracked down & got sick of only twenty-seven hp (my parry somehow gave me health, figured it was awesome that it did; later noticed I gained health upon reaching thirty-four parry on my main char)...

Well, now all of my skills are at thirteen or fourteen, with SC at fourteen & parry at twenty-seven something... I think my Archery is at fourteen too though, so my title might not be Wizard atm :p

I'm thinking if you get ALL your other skills to 10 or so first, it may be feasible. You'll have some parry skill, and enough hitpoints to avoid getting one-hit by anything.

I have a level 13 Archer Arcana who, if given enough greater holy arrows, can beat CotBG and world walker (cept for the boss) solo. Hes got level 8 in everything then 12 parry 13 SC and 13 archery.

Where's the challenge if I'm getting all those skills

If anyone has heard of the level 1 FF9 challenge, that's essentially what this is. I'm going to go through the game with a character that has 5 hp.

Besides, getting all the other skills to ten would ruin my title
