Unable to connect to servers

Hello all,
I recently re-downloaded MSC and am very excited to play again, however after updating my half-life and half-life 2 games and properly installing MSC. I am unable to join "Visit" any servers "Kingdoms", when I attempt to join a server (making sure it is not password protected, don't you dare peg me as that low of a noob) I get Disconnected with a message that states "You .dll [cl_dlls\client.dll] differs from the server's." Now I realize this means I am missing an update of some form, but I cannot seem to find it. So I ask you fine people of this forum Can you please help me so I can play MSC once again.

Download and install the main game and patches from here: http://www.msremake.com/download.php

Do not download MSC from any other source.

Also, read stickies (at least the titles).

Thank you for the information. About 10 minutes after I posted this, I saw someone else’s post involving a the same issue, sorry for adding another spam post. >.<

I have this same problem. But i downloaded both of the 2 files sitting there (after niether of them worked alone) and it still doesn't work. i also only have 1 cl_dll in my folder. anything wrong?

Download the installer, install it, then the betapack, and install that. Close Steam when you do the installing (or if you're really paranoid, do a fresh reboot, then install - making sure Steam is not set to start with Windows first).

If it still doesn't work, report back with the size and date modified of the client.dll in your cl_dlls folder, and we'll try to figure out what weirdness is going on here.

I deleted all the old content and got both packs and it worked! The only thing that was different was the order of download. Before i got the beta pack first, could that have been it? Anyway, thanks for the help. It's a really fun mod!

Yeah, that would have been it - gotta do the general installer, then the update. Should work something up where the updater checks for the original game, I suppose. In anycase, have fun.
