Venevus can't be killed?

So I did a run of Bloodrose last night, it went fine. Today I did another run but I can't kill him. I can do damage to him but his bar doesn't lower. I've had this issue before, has anyone else had the same issue?

you have to activate all of the elemental crystals at the same time.

Hitting him with something he's immune to? (And possibly shouldn't be.)

Don't recall running into it myself, but I've not debugged the sequence in quite some time, and he does go invulnerable during certain parts of it. Can do some stress tests on it when I get the chance.

Sorry, forgot to update this earlier. I did some forum searching found a post from Keldorn with the same thing. He said, and it looks to be confirmed through my playthroughs, that if you attack Venevus before his speech finishes then he'll stay invincible.

Venevus is immune to blunt/slash/pierce and (if I recall correctly) vulnerable to some degree to everything else. However, I vaguely recall that attacking him first with dark damage will do no damage at all, until you damage him with some other damage type he is (somewhat) vulnerable to, like ice.

I've seen Venevus be invincible, but never permanently. Did you try switching damage types?
