Question: is the map posted still correct, or have too many changes been done? If it is correct, I'll download it, print it and hang it to my wall near my PC.

the layout is pretty much correct, although some of the maps on here have been finished after this was released...

its probably in need of some updating.

I'll go updatie...

If you can make out the key, you can make a text version for us. ;)

I've intended to have little map descriptions / levels when you spawn in maps, just keep not getting around to it...

So many people are coming up with new weapon models and such all the sudden, I've been prioritizing model consolidation so we can get more new models in.

Will the update be posted at the front page of that thread, or here at the end?

Front, I'll make a post when I update...

Ran into a complication - I seem to be missing some of the old fonts I used... Sux - I've already deleted my old winderz archive. ><

I think the only changes are that MS_SNOW and Foutpost is complete - and that Foutpost has yet to connect to the world.

foutpost world-connecter map is badlands, if you'd want to add that its roughly 10% finished. (and i have the source, will work on after bloodrose)

Blarg, just updated dagnabbit... I think MiB's job is badlands, and I've not much faith that it'll get done, especially since he has code to play with to. What does Badlands connect to? ;)

Granted, I've even less faith that J-M is working on Riverwind and Goldmoon, and I added those...

Thothie, you should put down nightmare_maps as well. give the map (thornlands) a ! next to it and say a ! means it has a nightmare counter part. and if you read my README that came with my map. you can see how I want to connect my maps.

Also, my maps are intended to be the beginning of the castle, not the entire thing.

good idea P

aside from that...

badlands was initially supposed to connect to keledrosprelude (simply because there are so many opens trans spots there...

but if you can think of a more rocky area (similar to foutpost), or a dungeon for the player to come out of, then that'd be much better.

anyways - other than that...

Badlands connects to: The forgotten outpost, Mountainside town, and The Ancient ruins

Forgotten outpost connects to: badlands, orcish stronghold

Mountainside town connects to: Castle in the rocks, badlands

Ancient ruins connects to: Back way up the mountain (gauntleted)

Back way up the mountain connects to: The wyvern lair (might get changed)

as for badlands...i'm working on it after bloodrose is finished. i'll probably end up doing the rest, aswell.

Well I was hoping to nightmare all the vanilla maps eventually. Sadly, Thornlands is all I've had time for, and I dun think I'm going to use the ultra-quick method I used on it again due to the texturing issues it causes.

Waaay too ambitious. ;)

Complements of Lady X (sorta) - Terrain! ;)
map_w_terrain_thumb.jpg

Granted CoTB actually takes place near Daragoth - there's just no room to illustrate that. And WW1 takes place on another continent... So, this terrain map don't really work out - but it looks neat.

Well, if ya click on it, it gets bigger... But I think the only way I could make it work, and still fit nicely in a post, would be to go back to the old paint-by-numbers system, where ye look below for the key. Probably what we'll have to do eventually.

Looking forward even less when we get to the point where we have to have seperate underground and above ground maps.

Well, if we figure how to switch submodels on viewmodels - and get a decent "Paypah" model going - as per the model requests list - we could easily do that. I'd have to draw something up that looked more like a hand made map though.

Alternative is a massive sprite with a lot of frames you can similarly pull out. Be bit more of a magic hologram map though.

If ya think this is legible, I'll update the front page with it - but I think it's a bit hard to read compared to the plain model.

how about you just make the map cover the whole screen?

press m, and bam!

make it so its not an item so the media limit can have a break lol.

and if its not too much work only have places youve been show up on the map. :O

Oh, man, Thothie. I just realized that if you can use submodelled viewmodels, we are going to cut out a lot of models, and I mean a lot. Nearly all my modifications use the skullblade/shortsword/scimitar animations. Like 3 models total for viewmodels.

Yes, I figure if we can consolidate viewmodels we'll be more or less unlimited as far as adding more stuff to this game is concerned. Even if we can just change skins, it'd eliminate a lot.

Been trying desperately to get it to work, but no go thus far.
