just so everyone knows, there was about a 5 - 10 minute disturbance in service, everything is fine now.

I felt this disturbance in the Fuz.. It was like 20 geeks cried out in pain, and were suddenly complaining on forums..

I am starting to have serious internet issues, its taking up to 60 seconds to post just this to the forums...

I will have to call my provider and get this all fixed.

Expect everything to be up and going again by 5pm maybe 6pm so about an hour to 2 hour down time.

Not sure where to ask this, so here goes: Can I still download an up-to-date version of my [FN] character somewhere for use on serverside/clientside servers?

I went to http://www.hellsdiner.com/msc/ and downloaded a version of my [FN] character that has:
681 HP as opposed to 779 HP
340 mana as opposed to 400 mana
No rune shield
No greater ice blade
No novablade
Dark armor instead of golden armor
You all get the point - Hell's Diner is not hosting up to date characters. Level 35 Thug instead of level 39 Fencer what the hell.

well it should still be uploading to thothies ftp server, so nothing has changed when we moved it.

if need be I can setup a temp download with one of the latest archives for download.

I noticed, and so did Squirrel.

Is it possible to make the name of the 'FN up' server more eye-catchy? Like, through in a bunch of !@#$%^&*()s or something?

sure I can add a bunch of random symbols and make the name super long to make it "more eye-catchy".

I thought the name was long enough myself, meh guess thats just me then.

hmm can't seem to edit, get that SQL error that J-M posted about... Looks like someones gone and borked the SQL statement for deleting posts when posting edits :oldlol:

either way...
*edit of previous post*

Ok the FuzNet status server now has a whole lot of exclamation marks to help it stand out among the other servers. If it still doesn't make a loud enough statement for you then I can try something else.

hmmm, that will only happen if the port its connecting on has frozen...

not sure what has been causing it.

*edit*

I may have figured out the connection is established; connection lost issue!

not entirely sure but I think it has something to do with number of concurrent connections to FN, I set the max at 20 (was 10) however I noticed while poking around in the server that the 20 had been maxed out. If in fact it is maxing out, chances are FN is sending a rejection when the server tries to save and thus reports disconnect, however only seconds later a slot opens then reports that it established a connection.

Hopefully I have fixed the problem by setting it to 50, if need be I will increase the number but I am not sure how far I could go before weird things stat happening.

I was just about to ask why you had the amount of connections limited to twenty, but I see you fixed it

And Hakufu Sonsaku, you're JabbahRulz? I'll add your name to the Blades of Urdual usergroup so you can see our private forum 8)

when the FN server was passed to me one of the things I noted while looking through the information in the options text it was limited to 10 connections, I thought that to be a little odd so I bumped it up, technically that should have been enough.

However there seems to be "sticky" connections, a connection that starts but doesn't end, I think thats what leads to the lockups...

Either way I will be monitoring it closely to see if I need to further push the connections up.

ok so some really wierd things are happening with the server right now, FN seems to be working but I can not actually connect to it nor ping it...

so things are possibly unstable.

won't be able to know for certain if things are okay untill I get home at around 9pm today.

these 9am to 9pm days are just killer, at least they only happen two days out of the week.

well it looks like my modem freaked out and stopped working, yet some connections where making it through. It seems any outbound connection was being blocked, yet incoming where just fine. My modem confuses me sometimes :?
