It could also be fire themed so we can enjoy Hoarfrost pwnage, with the non used fire elementals and stuff... ANYWAY WE NEED MOAR NITEMAERZ!

And nightmares should be good XP for us higher levels :roll: . We'd even let you get away with not putting loot in them if that was the case :wink: .

We have that map, I believe it's called "EasyLevels2" or "Level50Fast"

...may also be Test4 - this guy isn't on FN, but he's nuts.

I remember when everyone just played custom maps. There was the farm map where every good monster was in a cage and the map with the chests/monsters/tree. Let's hope that never happens again.

All monsters at old_helena still giving half exp on the ultra-beta... I sure hope that won't be so for everyone with FEB2008a because the map will just die.

A map with an Atholo without pits and annoying minions would rock, Maybe nightmare Sfor? :wink:

Nightmare_Sfor should be the craziest nightmare ever (because it's right next to you know who's castle).

Which I think Thothie should recompile Sfor and open that door ^_^

The orcs spawning in Ara's forest are somewhat ramped, they have more hp than the other "identical" orcs.
And YES! MOAR NIGHTMARE MAPS!1!

Are you implying that a new nightmare map with monsters that give decent XP (this would be new) would be a cheatmap, or am I misunderstanding you?

Was it called jm_styxtemple2, which somebody by the name of J-M v2.5.5 made?

You are right. I checked. The first wave has the damage and health multipliers set to 1.5, and the second one 1.25, looks like I got them mixed up. :p I think I'll have to drop them a bit, especially since they don't affect XP. The skeletons in the cellar also use multipliers, which explains the low XP/difficulty ratio some have pointed out. I'll have to do a recompile some time.

No, that was definitely not the map. There were a couple main ones that all appeared around the same time (that I remember). One had chests in a big open area next to a tree which sometimes spawned an ESS (was the best weapon...) and I think it also had a monster area on the same map. The other I distinctly remember had some teleporters to different areas with caged monsters. The maps had simple names.

That comment about NIghtmare maps being the same as cheat maps is just plain stupid. Following that logic nightmare_thornlands shouldnt be [FN] approved.

I fired up MSC for the first time and here's the result:

A big white sprite covering my screen, apparently a GUI sprite of some sort. Also, the thing in the pink circle appears to be a map bug. It looks like a reflection of an NPC in another room? Just guessing.

...and that's not a map bug - that's a reflection - just can't see what it's reflecting because your OS and/or graphics card do not support OpenGL proper. ;)

Vista is terrible, and I happen to be on XP Pro SP2... So, thats why I didn't read that sticky. Maybe I should've included my specs:

Fresh XP Pro SP2 install (less than 2 weeks)
HL running in OpenGL (D3D gives lots of malloc errors and dealloc errors, woohoo)
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro w/ Catalyst 8.442
DirectX 9.0c

And... err, nothing else is really pertinent I can think of.

Did you fix the bug? Even if you don't have Vista, it seems that you could do the exact same thing to fix it. ;)
