I lold. You're a nub. Assuming things like that. Before I even attached that avatar on, I told J-M & Jabba I was going to, and why. ^^

I'm the noob? I didn't use a Swastika for an Avatar as a joke and go "LOL U PEPLE R UNEDUCATED FOR THINKIN I IS NAZI CUZ ITS CURENT REPUTATON MEANS NAZIS"

Seriously, who sees a Swastika and goes "That means peace and good will." I learned about the old meaning of the symbol, and that doesn't mean the next person I see with a swastika tattoo'd to their head, I'm gonna ask him to go hug a tree with me.

Yes, I see where you're coming from. It was such a "God" awful thing for me to have performed something I considered a joke. Oh, the humanity! The World is going to end, isn't it? Because people can't help but find scapegoats, everything is ruined, isn't it?

@ Red Cell
I lold once. Only once. At the Ron Paul candidate cartoon. :D

I took no offense to teh funneh joek u maed lawl. I found it ridiculous that you defended yourself with the little history the symbol had before the ww2, which by the way, gave it a completely new image, and thought it was okay because you warned two people before doing your little experiment.

But now it's over, and I'm going to do something I've never done before. I'm going to stfu from here on about this intelligent discussion.

If North Korea launched a nuke, and then said "LOL IT WAS A JOEK FUNNEH HUH?" as it's heading towards South Korea, would it be truly funny? Or would we be stupid for not considering it funny?

I lost major respect for Netrogor for his avatar.

If you're fascist enough to hate a symbol that means to "to be good", then good for you. ^^

I'm using this avatar to test whether or not people are educated. At all.

I know exactly what it means, but with the most current thing it represents (Nazis), it defaults the definition to bad.

So I stand in what I said, and thank you Net for taking it off. You gained thoes points back.

I see the swastika, and I think of its original purpose, and how it is still plastered to Buddhist Temples for that original purpose, to this day.

Actually, a lot of Buddhist and Hindus temples have stripped the symbol from their halls, as a condemnation to, and acknowledgement of, the holocaust, and not just those in Europe – which I suppose puts them one above Netrogor in being "educated" as to what the symbol actually stands for. The Hopi Amerindian tribe and Navajo nation officially condemned it's usage for the same reasons. In the west, it stands for hate, bigotry, and fascism, and has since the 1920’s, and any westerner who says otherwise is either being a smart-ass or a skinhead propagandist. You can only drag someone’s religious symbol through the muck so much before they get a new one. ;)

"In 1999, the Jewish civil rights group Anti-Defamation League also pressured Nintendo to edit the image of the Pokémon trading cards for Golbat and Ditto because the cards depicted a left-facing manji, which the League interpreted as anti-Semitism, although these cards had been intended for sale only in Japan with Nintendo planning to release edited versions in North America the following year."

Pix or it didn't happen xD

Also, for Net:
We call it an analogy. In my humble opinion, you were making light of World War Two, and the associated genocide, for laughs...I was hypothetically trying to make light of (hypothetical) nuclear holocaust, which doesn't work, cause it's not funny.

Also, for lulz.

The way Japan occasionally sneaks in sideways remarks about the war and Germany into some of its anime and television, I wouldn't be entirely sure that wasn't deliberate. Some of them are still bitter. ;)

Not all of them. I feel I should make this clear: I understand the majority of the world associates swastikas purely with nazis. And I've already told you it was a joke. If you can't get over the past, then this world isn't meant for you.
Also, people still use the Holy Cross for Christianity. It was used as the banner during the Holy Crusades, where a significantly greater, ratio wise, number of people died. So some religious groups will continue using their symbol, no matter how much it is dragged through the mud. See Paul Hill and James Kopp for modern day examples. They use the symbol and idea as an excuse to kill, and a number of people go so far as to show pride to belong to the same group as those men.

@ FER
Hey, did they succeed? ^^

@ Sabre
Difference. You compared a symbol to a weapon. A fact to a possible.

I lold at our debate ruining the lol-a-thon. :oldlol:
