When I tried changing the map to WWI, when I spawned, I was getting major FPS lag. After a while, it cleared up, but upon spawning the boars, the lag was back! This wouldn't occur on other maps, but I also noticed that when the lag was clear on WWI, and when trying to cycle through spells, the same lag would come back. It would drop to zero for a few seconds, stop, then drop again.

I'm not familiar with this particular issue on this particular map, though, yes, MSC is on crack, and thus behavior like this has been known to happen on occasion, but not with any consistency or location, so far as I know.

Is it doing this to you every time you visit WW1? Or was this just a bad day? For beware that MSC has more unexplained non-repeating phenomena than all the episodes of the X-files combined.

I actually found it to happen on some map transitions. When it would happen, you would be forced to restart, it'd lag too hard. :( It is repeatable, but it is an issue with the game, not specific maps. I could try to get a video of it happening.

Since it's major fps lag, for all we know, it could be bloom mode, a daytime command (dusk completly crashes my ms:c after major lag on my desktop, he could have issues of the likes too) or perhaps something related to his gpu not liking particular things.

I thought we fixed that... :\ (Or at least removed the suddenly offending effect.)

Valve's been tweaking the Source engine in such a way that it fails to clear memory of the previous map instances properly, and I wouldn't be surprised to see more of the same, that we've already seen, on the Goldsrc end. There's a lot of stuff along those lines that we do not have access to (or at least that no one in the coder's mailing list seems to be able to tell me how to force to clear and reload properly). Only thing I can think to do is shut down MSC between map changes.

And you should ALWAYS restart before changing servers. ...Failing to do so is a good way to fry your character.
