My mapvote is almost totally broken.
I've always used the 'ultra map vote' which allows me to vote to every map except gauntlet maps (ww2b, highlands_msc, lostcastle_msc) and boss maps (orcplace2_beta, skycastle, ww3b, keledrosruins).
Code:
- ms_votemap_type 2 - ultra voting: vote for any map you can name (amx_ultra_vote no longer works - use this instead)
Now, I can't even vote to lodagond-1 for example.

How can I fix this? Do I have to adjust some files? Which files? Or should I just redownload AMX?

Blarg, the AMX is so fuxed I dunno even know what version ye might be using.

If yer custommaps list is too big, it may not fit all ye maps.

The ultra-vote was buggered awhile ago - I'm not sure if we ever fixed it.

Again, kinda hoping to replace AMX with some MSC-side system eventually... Put too much of our hopes into Hummingbird only to have him drop us like a rock... Shoulda went with an African Swallow instead, I suppose.

Yes, he f*cked us all. But the future looks promising with recent breakthroughs.

The ultra votemap system is working for me. I just switched from AMXX as per Thothie's advice.

Did you modify any files anywhere? Server.cfg and/or other files? I'm also using AMX but I can't figure out what's going on.

I think I have everything in place to setup a script-side mapvote system, but it would mean disabling the map vote plugin in the AMX, and I think it is integrated with other plugins (some of which are critical), so that may not be an ideal option.

I've a map vote system in the scripts, and a function to check if a map exists or not... I want a JAN2008a release by midnight PST tonight though - there may not be time...

...I have been distributing the AMX 0.9.9 votemap plugin with the patch, so... I suppose I could go into it and strip the conflicting command (again, if I have time) - but those using the AMXmodX system would be on their own - I no longer have the version that was leaked, nor do I have a compatible one. :\

…ug – shouldn’t be thinking about these things until I sleep this off.

You know what J-M, on second inspection, some of my votemap functions are bad. People can't do area touching transitions, and only maps declared in the custom map cycle are votable. In server.cfg you should have added a line something like this:

//Custom Maps
custommaps "ww1 lodagond-1 ara b_castle bloodrose calruin2 challs chapel char_recover cleicert demontemple foutpost goblintown heras island1 keledrosprelude2 mines nightmare_thornlands orc_arena pvp_archery pvp_arena the_keep ms_snow ms_wicardoven sfor unrest2_beta1 unrest"

I'm going to try to add the maps I'm having trouble votemapping in that bunch and see how it turns out. I still don't understand why are touching transitions aren't working tho. In AMXX you could do votemaps and area trans...

A fresh AMX reinstall and reconfigure of MOTD.txt, amx.cfg, plugins.ini and users.ini and a double-check of server.cfg fixed my problem (although I still don't know what caused the problem).

My mapvote works fine again, thanks for the help guys :)
