Everytime i create a lan game i have a ping of at least 200 to my own server which eventually results in my computer freezing. Its very peculiar because it happens only with mastersword and cs source. ive looked everywhere trying to find a solution and have thirst to play ms. I am running vista btw which may have somthing to do with it. ive tried things such as updating my dlls, turning off my firewall and screwing with rate commands and my internet connection. I am stumped. HELP ME TOOTHIE! :oldcry:

well your biggest issue is with vista

well two things, are you making a listen server, or are you making a dedicated server and then connecting to it all on the same computer?

The listen server should work, you should be able to play it, but there are some known issues with master sword and vista.

If you are making a server and then trying to connect to it on the same computer, then your issue is the fact your making a server and connecting to it on the same computer.

well I would, vista isn't compatible with direct x 9 games. In once sense it is, it emulates it, however emulation has so many limitations. It may be a year or more before the emulation works well enough to consider playing direct x 9 games on.

So yes save yourself the grief get XP

Don't blame me, blame Vista. ;) I do what I can to expand compatibility, but Vista and Steam have a lot more nutty programmers on hand determined to make to make you buy new hardware, and I can't really compete.
